jabbing against a much taller Maskaev...is that a good idea?

Peter relies on his ability to take a hit and so therefore he tends to want to trade licks well when that fails he starts throwing wild swings. It looks like he did so well in the second fight with Toney.Well in the first fight he learned that Toney did not have the power to knock him out so he let his hands fly without fear in second fight and that made him look good. Now add a fighter with a good chin, power and skills, with that combination a win will be more elusive . IMHO Peter may be at the pinnacle of his career.

Yes, pinnacle I would say too. Its too late for him to learn how to box, and people will figure him out. I can't see how Maskaev could have much problem with him.

Thanks now I see. Because its obvious to me that Peter has less of everything (but perhaps chin) that Oleg has.
These are blind Peter fans, who cannot see how laughably crude this guy is.

I'm going with Oleg by decision. He is a much smarter boxer than people give him credit for. If Peter doesn't KO him in the first 2 rounds it's gonna The Big 'O' all night.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Peter obviously has no tools to handle Vitali. I didnt see the wlad fight but I would expect, and have heard, that Peter couldnt find the range, and his aim is so way off that he must have lost big on points. THe same would be the case with Vitali.

Maskaev Vitali will be a war between two well schooled tough guys. OLEG knows Vitali so well style wise he is not scared of him. I think that he will last atleast as long as Corrie Sanders or better.

The biggest question is wether or not Maskayev's 38 year old legs, can keep pace with Peter's 26 year old ones

Do you think Peter has good pace in his legs?

You know, Oleg has gone 12 rounds lately against younger guys and at the end of fights his movement was still ok.

Depends on what his trainers want him to do
Me personally if he was my guy,Id have him fighting away to force Maskayev, make him chase, and step to the sides to set up those big booming hooks of his

So you mean that you want Peter to back up and have Oleg following him? But what about the distance; Oleg has better reach is that not a problem, and doesnt backing take away from the power?

Naw you never want to go straight back
You want to step to your sides, not only does that get your hips moving in to a power shot, and alot of time you can creak a guy open like that.
His best punches are those booming hooks he throws, and it keeps Oleg constantly having to follow him

I voted Peter by late TKO, with Samuels new found offense I think hes improved vastly and I think he would stop the older, slower Maskaev.
