Most Americans will be watching Clottey-Diego. The PM-JC fight is considerd a big mismatch over here. I saw it at 6:00 PM.

I would just like to point out that IU am super drunk and that it would take more than broken hands to stop Joe Calzaghe....what if he was fighting an American who could beat Americans with a KO by stoppage.

"I would love for him to come to the United States to fight Jermain Taylor," said Emanuel Steward, Taylor's trainer, during the HBO broadcast.

"I am the fastest super middleweight in the world," declared Calzaghe. "I am ready to come over to America. It has been a goal of mine to fight in the United States against a big name."

"Per Joe's desire to unify the belts, I had already offered Mikkel Kessler a multi-million dollar purse, including his keeping the German and Danish TV rights, for a summer title unification fight," stated Calzaghe's promoter Frank Warren. "However, Kessler's promoter countered with a demand for parity and a 50/50 split on everything. Now look around Millennium Stadium today. Joe has sold a European record amount of tickets and generated publicity worldwide by successfully defending his title a landmark 20 times during a reign that has lasted nearly 10 years. Kessler is barely two years into his title reign and has very little name recognition outside his own country. We think he is an outstanding fighter and it would be brilliant if he and Joe would face each other next, but when a counter offer like that is made, it tells me his promoter doesn't want the fight. I can't believe that counter offer came from Mikkel. Joe is going to attempt to tie Sven Ottke's record with his 21st title defense this summer. I hope cooler heads prevail and it's against Mikkel Kessler."

Are you confused...I would hope so becuase I just read what I just posted and I am utterly baffled. In my defence, it is a sneaky outlook for ppl supporting Calzaghe.... and y'all don't know what happened....

Why even let them fight at all. We all know peter was mismatched. so why even let them fight 1 second. The fight could have been stopped before it started. The referee should have stopped the fight during the national anthems because peter looked overmatched and he wasn't throwing any punches.

Hokie ckie pig and a pokie....I dunna want to be rud but Manfredo thought he would emerge victorious. Despite all of the ref;'s backing Calzaghe everyone's backing JC where the judgement will take place.

Manfredo was outmatched from the beginning as we all knew he would be, but damn they could have let it go a little bit!

Lame how this fight was stopped so fast. Manfredo was not even hurt. He was on his way to being, probably but he wasnt at that point. Maybe the ref felt bad cuz he was so outmatched he didnt want to see him take a punishing ass-beating. Joe Calzaghe looked fucking fast in this fight though. Just a shame it ended so fast.

The way I feel now I'm all but done with boxing. Every F****** weekend a fight is ruined by some fuckwit.
It was an awful stoppage. I cannot believe I got up early with a hangover just to be treated to a stoppage like that. Calzaghe was clearly turning it on, but its a title fight and the ref should allow time to see if the challenger can summons up something....

The stoppage was a joke at the point of the stoppage Manfredo was ducking under the punches the punches that hit his gloves when he was on ropes were just pitter patter everything Joe threw was pitter patter nothing real quality he won't get away with pitter patter against Kessler,Taylor or Woods but the stoppage was awful when you think it was a world title fight compare it to what Graham Earl was taking his corner threw in the towel and Vann threw it back out the punches he was taking on the ropes were big heavy blows all in all the fight was a joke and Manfredo must think very bad of us we booed threw his national anthem the he gets stopped in such a crap fashion i predict that if Joe fights a top fighter next e.g Kessler,Taylor,Woods even Chad Dawson he gets beat and convincingly
