Kirkland Laing One Of The Best To Never Win World Title ??

People always mention Herol Graham being one of the most unluckiest to never win world title but what about Laing he schooled Duran and you would think anyone who could beat legend like Duran would easily win world title but after Duran fight his skills went down hill and he never did what a shame any thoughts on Laing from people who were in that era ??

Why has nobody written a book on him the guy was a nobble. At his best a joy to watch, But when it mattered something went missing. He was the best fighter at welter Duff and Lawless produced, would handle Honeygann easily in the gym. Terrible concentration in major fights let him down. Shame I liked him.

Really wow never even see it on news i heard he has bad drug problems now aswell.

Steve Bunce tracked him down a few years ago and did a documentary. He was living ruff on streets of London (but had a flt aswell) He was drinkingout of a brown paper bag and had a beard doen to his chest - basically a tramp. Terrible to see. At the end of the prohram it said that Kirkland had (since filming) fallen from the balcony of his flat and was in critical condition. I know he survived, but son't know more than that.

Yea Kirk was a top fighter with bad concentration
His win over Duran was probably the best win ever by a british fighter.
I mean Honeyghans win over Curry was great but Curry didnt become the great we thought he was.
Duran achieved so much after Kirk beat him so it is truely a great win , was good to watch him but frustrating i remember him getting iced by Buck Smith after winning handily
Now hes in a bad way with drugs etc but thanks for the memories Kirk , his fights with Colin Jones we truely great to watch
