Hatton left him to chase the big fights and eventually secureed a Castillo fight he probably would not have got in the UK. So is America where fighters have to go to cement their legacy or should we expect their fighters to travel as well as the others??

And thinking about Enzo here cause Joe is probably too old but should he split from Frank cause there are probably only three or four big fights for him at the weight and can they be made fighting in the UK?
First off…welcome to the forum.

Have the Obligatory Wacko Welcome Wagon

Now…as far as your question/post…personally I think that everyone is being a bit harsh on Joe. Me being a Yank…this statement’s gonna seem odd…but I say fwockit! Let him stay at home & fight…most of our U.S. champs do & it’s alright.

Joe is undefeated & impressively so. Anyone that refuses to recognize his skill is either a hater or just oblivious to what the sweet science is all about.

Joe is a professional & generally a beaut to watch in the ring. Whether it’s across the pond or not…he’s still the man & technically…everyone should come to him…again…because he is the champ & undefeated. My fellow Yank fight fans are a bit hypocritical. It’s fine for Jones, Hopkins, Floyd, Oscar, & blah blah blah to stay home & fight…but not Joe.

That’s bullshit.
C'mon man. You're certainly not trying to suggest that Calzaghe has proved himself to be on par with Hopkins, are you? The only fight of 'interest' for Jones in Europe was Michaelpussy, and we all know what happened to him when the going got ruff. All of the great Mexican champs came to the states to build their legacy, and the same holds true for any euro-fighter that wants international recognition. It would serve not only their reputation well, but it would also heftily fatten their bank accounts.
G-D, I hate to quote Don King, but..."Only in America!"
nah.. I'm with wackoff on this one. As frustrating as Frank Warren's choice of opponents for Joe are, the fact is the Champ reserves the right to fight on home turf unless challengers can front the coin to lure him out.
I see your point, but I still don't agree. Calzaghe is a phenom and can fly to the states and still be as effective as he was in Cardiff. With talk of Hopkins calling out Calzaghe, Calzaghe must defer to a ring legend if he seriously wants to make that fight happen. Come on, folks. Hopkins has accomplished things that Calzaghe would kill for.
As much as a Hopkins fan that I am, even in light of his ridiculous comment that Miranda has been passed the torch, I think it would be a great fight. But Calzaghe hasn't fought the quality of opposition that Hopkins has. Time to take it to the next level, Joe. Bernard isn't getting any younger and neither are you.
