Yes weight drained old shot Eubank.
And a wet behind the ears rookie Calzaghe who hadn't fought anybody, was in his first world title fight and had trained to fight Steve Collins

People seem to forget, that although Eubank was past his best, Calzaghe had nowhere near reached his best!!

..and shoot me down in flames people, but I think Eubank's performance against Calzaghe was up there with his best, he actually came to fight, which he hadn't sone for 6 years!!!
I think this is bit untrue mate arguably Calzaghe's performance against Eubank was his finest ever Eubank was at Lightheavy at first if i remember he had to lose alot of weight in short amount of time and still gave good account of himself and Calzaghe wern't that much of rookie 22 wins 21 kos.
He wasnt exactly established he had never fought a 12 rounder before and i mean he had only been scheduled to go 12 twice before in his career , so his first 12 rounder was against one of the best British fighters ever who was 31 years old, not exactly as easy assignment, id be curious to know who was the betting favourite.

Lacy was a 2000 Olympian. went 209-12 (nearly twice as many fights as JC) in the amateurs. In 1998, he won the National Championships and the PAL Championship. He reached the National Championships finals and repeated as PAL champion in 1999. In the U.S. Trials that year, was undefeated. He the had an equally successful first 22 fights as Calzaghe, but yet Lacy was untested and overated and Calzaghe had had loads of experience as was ready step up
