Not just majority share, but control of the linear champion. He could have unified any of the three titles held by Ruiz, Brewster and Byrd, but so long as V. Klitschko had the more important title, what was the point? Klitschko wasn't goint to let himself get screwed by DKP and King wasn't going to risk any of his champions against a fighter who had only lost 2 matches in his career, but had 1 KO short of all of his victories. His plan was to just keep sending contenders until one of them was granted the miracle of beating Klitschko. Unfortunately, fortune did not smile on Johnson or Williams while injury kept Rahman from getting humiliated (although Maskaev picked up that slack). Had Klitschko fought ANY of King's champions, then we would have a unified champion in Klitschko and eventually, an undisputed one. W. Klitschko has the opportunity to take the division if he beats Brewster this time, but now that V. Klitschko is back, it's less likely that an undisputed champion will emerge (unless V. Klitschko wins all three of the belts his brother does not have, which means getting stripped of the WBA to become the super-champion anyway).

thats why its gonna be great when wlad loses again.
Hey you all bitch about Wlad not avenging his losses......he'll beat the S*** out of Brewster this go round

DDS, Lamon lost his trainer shortly before the Wlad fight which IMO was why he was able to take so much punishment....he dedicated the fight to him
exactly he has no real prob with Brewster... CORRIE is fighting why isnt he talking about that? That was his real loss.

....because Corrie Sanders is 42 years old and hasn't fought at a top level since 2004....but yeah I am sure that would be a good rematch to have too.

Lamon Brewster is still a tough fighter but he hasn't been active in a long time either.....he's a good warm up for another fighter, perhaps Chagaev who may remind some people of Corrie Sanders being that he's a southpaw who is pretty good and awkward too

Brewster must need some money real bad for not taking a tuneup. Wlad is going to maul him in less than eight rounds. This fight should be called "Punishment" since Klits can hit Brewster at will ( as established in their first meeting)

Brewsters heart won him the first fight. I don't think that he will pull it off again.

That & the fact that Wlad gassed himself out won him the fight.

Honestly...I respect Wlad for avenging the loss...I'd love to see him right all his wrongs like Lennox did...but I really don't think that Purity is a factor anymore & like Lyle said...Sanders aint fighting anything more than dusted off corpses.

I think Wlad gases himself out again with nerves because he's fighting a guy who's already ko'd him

He's more patient than ever now....he'll win if he has to go the distance or not. Last fight he threw EVERYTHING at Lamon in the 4th...when he could have paced himself and ended the fight later on.

The jab is the key and not letting Brewster fight on the inside....Wlad has gotten a lot better at tying up much to the dismay of the haters of Wlad Klitschko. Wlad never had trouble landing on Brewster and his defense has improved...as has his stamina and ability to pace himself.

Wladimir will beat Lamon Brewster into submission

This fight makes all the sense in the world to Wlad. He's the guy that, moreso than the other alphachumps, people see as the "real" champ.

Joe Louis lost Max Schmelling and subsequently won the belt. He would later say... "Everybody calls me champ, but I won't feel like the champ until I beat Schmelling". Rematch- Louis by brutal 1st round KO. I don't think that's likely in this case, but...

Big props to little klit for taking this fight. It's the right thing to do legacy-wise. It avenges a loss, and in all honesty, Brewster with ring rust is more dangerous than the other belt holders right now.
I'm not even a Klitschko fan, but this is the right fight.
