This could be a pretty interesting fight, not much at stake but almost a sure Knock out either way

I like Vargas by mid round ko..it gonna be a mid round ko either way..both may hit the canvas.I really wanna see this happen..I will even buy a PPV for this brwal...if the undercard is decent.
Vargas would win a decision if he just boxed. Maybe a KO because Mayorga hasn't been the same since Tito. But, Mayorga will connect at least one, and Vargas' chin sucks.
It's a pick'em, unless Vargas boxes smart.
Vargas apparently decided not to fight Mayorga![]()

mayorga will knock vargas out, vargas is done!
Yeah I heard Vargas is way out of shape...there was talk of this awhile ago, but no word since.
I am not sure Mayorga will win. How good is Mayorga really? He beat Forrest but the guys he fought like Tito and Oscar demolished him, and when is the last time Oscar demolished anyone? Strum went 12 with Oscar and then Oscar stops Mayorga. I think this fight is pickem. Mayorga has been stopped many times recently.. If Vargas hits him he might stop Mayorga..
I think if Vargas can get up for one last big fight and is at a comfortable weight class for him (right now which looks to be around 175), he can definitely win this fight. It would be a great fight for him to retire and go out on, too. It doesnt look like Vargas is going to be beating any top contenders these days. Mayorga is still a name and has held a few world titles. I like Vargas, like Jim Lampley once said, because he is not one of the greatest fighters but he is definitely one of the most human. He was a good fighter competing in a time and a division that set him on a course that led him to collide with great fighters like Trinidad, Sugar Shane Mosley and Delahoya. I mean if you're gonna lose to some one that's not a bad list of fighters to have lost to, and so he was derailed by those type of collisions. People also forget - Vargas did beat Ike Quartey at a time when Quartey was as close to greatness as he would ever come. Despite the fact that he wasn't the best fighter of his generation, like I said Ferocious Fernando Vargas was one of the most human. You could see his vulnerabilities and his insecurities going into and during his fights and for the most part, the guy laid it out there and fought gutsy, bloody fights. I think the boxing fans should respect that because I know I sure do. "Ferocious" Fernando Vargas by late round KO. Neither fighter is doing too well at making weight for the divisions below 160. I think Vargas is very capable of outboxing and/or outpunching Mayorga at this weight.
I think Mayorga would win by KO if the fight happens! I would love to see these guys at the pressers, could be more entertaining than some fights are.
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
Mayorga by KO cuz INO Vargas is gonna be stupid & try to trade with him!
is this fight still ON?
I just read yesterday that Mayorga was training in Panama for the fight, so as far as I knew it was...Originally Posted by TheBESTP4P
