Surely, there would be a ton of money involved, and I think Hopkins would go easy on him for the first 15 or 20 seconds of the bout.
You may have been stoned when you posted that.

Like Roy is going to WAIT to see if Hopkins beats Wright.

Whats wrong with Roy saying he would go overseas and fight Joe with Calzaghe getting the biggest of the post.

Thats what everyone been saying about Jones in england and overseas

"He wont come over here" and "he prices himself out" But when he finally does it you say "why doesn'e he fight Hopkins"

How about this

Why doesnt' Calzaghe fight Kessler, Mundine, EVEN BERRIO!!!

People say Roy needs to fight the Badi Ajamus of the world well I guess you see nothing wrong with Calzaghe fighting the Bika's and the Manfredo's of the world So you are going to justify Joe NOT fighting Roy when Roy is doing the things you always complained he didnt? Damned if you do, damned if you dont
When he finally does what? Stipulate a 60/40 purse split with Calzaghe? Why? It doesn't make any sense. You're jumping the gun a bit by attempting to infer that I don't have some serious issues with Calzaghe and Warren. You can find many a post of mine that calls into question this parade of bums that Calzaghe has been fighting - Peter Manfredo Jr. C'mon, it doesn't get any more ridiculous than that, Starr. :P
Yes, Jones would be a Quantum Leap up in class from the Manfredo's of the world. But Bika was a legit contender that was giving Beyer all he could handle, and prior to that, Calzaghe had the Lacy fight. But I'm sure that you're aware of all of this already.

Let me ask you this, though:

Don't you think it's a bit premature for Roy to be making these types of purse demands? Given, if Calzaghe has the true grit of a champion, he would jump on the opportunity to fight one of the greatest to ever strap on gloves. But Jones is really putting Calzaghe's back against the wall? Certainly not the way Hopkins did to Jones prior to the 2nd Tarver bout, and we all know that Hopkins vs. Jones 2 never materialized.

It may be a case of damned if you do damned if you don't with certain people when it comes to Jones, I just don't fall into that category. For a man with a legacy as rich as Roy's in the sport, I would think it best to get a good arbitrator and go into serious negotiations prior to making demands. Let's face it: Jones isn't holding the title, and I think I'm solid ground historically by saying that the ultimate leverage goes to the champ. Roy knows this all too well.

However, I may change my mind after posting this as the Lysergic Acid kicked in about 40 minutes ago.

Good points, BTW.
