Here in the UK at least I could say with 100% certainty that probably less that 5% of the British population are even aware it's occurring at all and less than 1% actually give a tuppeny F*** about it.

Floyd just isn't a big name star. Certain athletes transcend their sports Michael Schumcacker, Tiger Woods, Peter Sampras, Freddie Flintoff, David Beckham etc are all examples of stars who even non sports fans will have heard of.

Mayweather ain't even close to that level of fame. In the UK Alfonso Gomez is more recognised and I'm being totally serious when I say that.

I think this fight is a big fight, probably the biggest since Tyson Lewis but it's not any bigger in any way shape or form.
Floyd isn't a big name star in the UK but De La Hoya is, anyway in the US they are huge and that's all that matters. To be honest I doubt either one of them cares what the Brits think of them.
Trust me Oscar isn't a star over here at all either. If he walked down any street in the UK I doubt hardly anybody would notice him at all. He's a name that most blokes at least probably have heard of but they couldnt put a face to the name. It's the same as Gatti, a lot of guys you meet in pubs have heard of Arturo Gatti but couldn't tell you what he looks like, what weight he fights whatever.

Floyd is even less well known although I expect that will change slowly.

Peter Manfredo though is pretty well known
