I guess you never know, but it seems to me like Bautista and Juarez could very possibly just blast their opponents out.. Mind you if the main event turns out to be a thrilling fight, the undercard won't really make a bit of difference overall..
This is exactly right. CC. Richard Schaeffer basically said this in a boxingtalk interview a couple of days ago: people are going to buy this fight for the main event so we don't need a great undercard. These undercard fights aren't even worthy of being a boxing after dark main event. It's pathetic. And, as you point out, short-sighted. If this is the event that's supposed to bring non-boxing fans into the mix, this is a terrible way to do it. It's already not at all unlikely that the PBF/Oscar fight is not crowd-pleasing (I still think the most likely outcome is PBF pot-shots Oscar one punch at a time all night and cruises to an easy points victory, a la PBF/Baldomir -- not that ODH isn't better than Baldo, but I still think Floyd's too quick and defensive to get drawn into anything else, and he won't need to take risks to win on points). If on top of that the undercard sucks, they'll just end up turning people off to the sport.
