First off everyone seems to think Hatton is another Gatti??

I cant believe that anyone thinks Floyd will box his head off, i hear Hatton has no speed, Floyd is quicker but Hatton was beating KT to the jab everytime whcih was allowing him to get close up, people seem to think that Hatton is going to be taking four or five shots everytime he trys to get close, he wont, he is the stronger man just wait and see, Floyd will not be able to keep him off, do people really think Hatton is going to do a Gatti and just stand there hahahaha, we will see this is a 50/50 fight, Hatton will take a few shots but dont under estimate his speed and especially his jab which i think will enable him to come in and dictate the pace, where will Floyd get the room to be popping his head off as most of you think?? Hatton will only be at long range for short spaces of time.

Please please please people do not think Hatton Mayweather will be anything like Gatti-Mayweather because it wont.

Agree with you skel, Hatton has a great chance with EDUCATED pressure. His body attack is second to none, his speed is (clearly) underated and power can match a lot of boxer's. This will no way be like Gatti, Hatton is in his prime, Gatti was long past it. Hatton has only had to endure one semi-war, Gatti was worn down by several. Hatton is also a lot better at actually getting inside and when he does he's formidable.

To address weight questions, clearly none of you have seen Hatton when he's not fighting. This guy balloons massively between fights, he's gonna have to lose less weight fighting at WW and less weight drained = more power.

I dont believe anyone else has a chance taking down PBF (At WW)

Thats the best assesment of the fight I've heard in a while, if i could CC I would.

I was simply focusing on how Hatton has a better chance than the others that were listed, he would give Floyd the most problems And Floyd without doubt would give Ricky more problems than he has ever had.

I want this fight to happen sooooo bad, it would kill me if we missed these guys fighting in their prime. However, I think Ricky needs the publicity of another couple of State side fights to turn this into Mega fight status before it can happen.

Maybe Margarito will get a shot, maybe Judah will be able to force a rematch but I don't see either of these fighters beating Mayweather, not even close.

Hatton has yet to fight at 147 lb and letsd be honest there is no way in hell he could make 154, he's only 5ft 6 and got short little arms 147 is is max weight limit.

So Hatton and Mayweather ain't going to be getting on in the near future. Hatton's destiny lies with Cotto and Castillo not Mayweather.

Mayweather will now have his sights on the 154lb division and so it's the following names that could be future opponents for him,

1) ODH, if he gets past Mayorga this would be the big one. A massive payday for both fighters and record PPV's outside the heavyweights. A 50/50 toss up imo.

2) Shane Mosely, Could take place at 147 or 154, a natural choice for Mayweather, big name, loads of PPV's

3)Kasim Ouma, quality fighter at 154, again big matchup

4)Karmazin, A big target for Mayweather, world champ but not the best in the division. Mayweather would take him on for the chance to be 5 weight champ. Great fight.

5)Joel Julio, Still learning and a year or two away from challenging for a world title but this kid could be the future at 154 lbs so a mega clash between the two could happen in late 2007. I reckon Julio has the best chance of all of them to beat Mayweather. Huge puncher, very big and strong for the weight, and suprisingly seeing as he has hardly any amateur background, he can box.

Good god I hope your wrong, although what your saying makes complete and utter sense in line with Mayweather's "dream". Maybe if someone could convince Mayweather fighting possibly legendary fights and gaining legit status as a champ (instead of just the IBF at WW and not facing the real champ at JW) would cement his "All time Great" status that he seeks a lot more than flying up the weights without facing his number 1 contenders.

All those who are considered All time greats, faced there biggest threats. De La Hoya might have also been a five weight champion but he also fought tough fights in the better parts of his career (Hopkins, Tito and Suger Shane to name a few).

I agree that if the money was right he might be tempted but Mayweather's goal has always been to be the fastest man to win world titles in at 5 different weights. I belive DLH did it in 10 years and Mayweather is about 7 years as a pro now.

More than anything he wants a world title at 154 lbs now. If a Margarito fight is already scheduled and if he has to rematch Judah then that would be 2006 over.

For Mayweather the clock is ticking and he wants that 154 title bad.

Personally I see the DLH or Shane Mosely fights as the most likely of the list offered but I reckon he will already be eying up the 154 lbs now. Maybe one more fight at 147 then move up again...........


But actually I don't think Mayweather should be criticised for this. People always say he should stay and dominate one division, but actually he sets higher standards for himself. I mean to set out from the beginning with the goal of being a 5 weight world champ takes one hell of a self belief. And the quicker he fufills that goal the less likely anybody else will come close to replicating it.

Yes, Floys has faced some of the great fighters at each weight. However, my point and major beef with mayweather is that he's calling himself the champ without beating THE MAN. At JW it was Ricky and Tsuyu before him, if he wants to do it at WW (as bizarre as it sounds) he's gotta beat Baldomir. Calling yourself the real champ means you have to beat the real champ, otherwise people see through it. (or at least that should do)
