Duran was good but fundamentally a quick fast footed fighters beat him. Duran had his feet wide apart and with guys who fought him and let him get off his shots he would be unbeatable (Iran Barkley, Davey Moore), but when a guy had skills to not let Duran punch and move and counter Duran was made to look ordinary. I remember another smaller guy Benitez making Duran look almost silly with speed. And Hearns jab was landing on Duran snapping Roberto's head back and Tommy had quick hands. Speed was Duran's weakness and Floyd had it, although Floyd is not better than Sugar Ray Leonard and never will be. I think it would be interesting. But speed did get to Duran. Movement and speed even more.. The key to beating Duran. First foot movement and speed and effective punching. Duran beating Ray the first time was just the case of Ray wanting to fight Duran's fight. And this is proven by the fact that Ray easily beat Duran in the rematch and the 3rd fight. If Duran really was better than Ray he would have done it again in the next two fights. All Ray needed was a little experience and he beat Duran easily. And Duran then was 29 years old and 147 was a good weight for him. This past his peak stuff in 1980 is nonsense.
