Mosley and Hatton would pose big problems for Mayweather IMO as he did not school Oscar at all and only got back in it when oscar tired.

Mosley would be a good fight but Hatton is not even in the same league. That would be a massacre.

dude i'm not disputing the decision .

Just after hearing all his shit and bullshit about how he is gonna do this and that he failed miserably .

If he didnt run his mouth and act like a cunt i'd give him a round of applause but instead he just waiting for Old Oscar to get Old .

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think what Gordy is trying to say is, not that the decision it self was bogus, but that the way PBF fought was similar to a man trying to steal a round. He let Oscar punch himself out, pot shotted him so that the margin of points did not get out of hand, waited till Oscar got tired and then took the last 3 rounds.

In essence, he never tried to beat Oscar, he let Oscar beat himself and took advantage of this.

Even though I agree that PBF's strategy was not very heroic, I have to give him props for coming up with a somewhat easy, yet close, way to beat DLH. In the end, Gordy, what matters is the W. That is the only thing that has ever mattered to PBF throughout his career.

this round is a good example of the whole fight. when oscar rushes mayweather on the ropes, jus look at the wicked defenses skills of floyd. and when mayweather attacks oscar, he is too good and makes him too amatuerish!

2,3and4 were Oscars rounds and what did Mayweather the ''supposed'' pound for pound champ do in those rounds ?

    F*** all !

Oscar tired badly fought in spurts and yet after all the big talk of confrontation and a massacre , Floyd went MIA as soon as Oscar managed to rouse himself when he got a secnd wind .

Mayweather is a deluded conman he never at anytime tried to initiate anything and was content to let Old Oscar punch himself out , luckily for Floyd the Fraud his gamble paid off !!

Mayweather has no bottle ,no bollocks and no right to ever ever ever mentioned in the same breath as Sugar Ray Lenord .

    well said my friend!!!!

now, i know we will be attacked by fanboys of pbf calling the fight as a finesse performance by floyd. a finesse fighter is more like a sugar ray leonard. not the roller blading pbf

The look of concern of Floyd's face through 2,3 and 4 said it all !

Sugar Shane Mosely moved up from lighweight in his 2nd fight at Welter Raliied and tore the World Championship away from De la hoya , what if he'd retired after that fight ?

Mayweather is a complete crock and a conman !
So let me get this straight, he didnt really win the fight because he had a look of concern on his face during it? He didnt steal any decision. Oscar did very well for what I expected of him. I scored it (and I believe i am a very fair and unbiased scorer as I like both fighters and would have welcomed a DLH upset as much as the expected PBF victory) 117-114 with 6 rounds to 3 for Floyd and 3 (yes 3...some of those rounds were close!) even rounds.

I do agree with you that it sucks if Floyd retires but who are we to lay criticism if the guy's hands are as messed up as he says? it sucks having to shoot your hands up with novocaine before a fight just so you can deal with all the damage that has been done to all the fragile bones in there. Some people are more delicate than others in the skeletal/bone department so you cant really hold it against him if his (or any fighters') hands are not holding up through all the constant damage and impacts they must withstand.

Other than the early retirement thing (and really, let's believe that when we see it as Im sure this is not the last we have heard from Floyd Mayweather jr)...you should give Mayweather credit where credit is due. He clearly outboxed Oscar in an entertaining bout where he was clearly the smaller guy, and really, I think both fighters deserve props for their efforts. Oscar at this point in his career; all the respect in the world for going out taking on the best. This was entertaining and competitive but there should have been no split decision IMO. Oscar did not do enough to warrant one. In fact he did little after the first half of the fight was over and looked clearly outworked in the final rounds.

Sorry your boy lost. But dont take the victory away from Mayweather because of it. Oscar too, beat many people's heroes when they were far past their prime...and Oscar wasnt that far past his...

Excuse me ? My Boy ?

Oscar aint my boy not even for one minute !!!

Now lets get a few things straightened out good and proper !!!

For the last how many months we've been subjected to the kinda big talk and degenerate behaviour that belongs in Cretin Snooker halls and nightclubs !!!

the only one thing that could redeem Floyd Mayweather in my eyes was a polished peformence the kind he has been promisings with all his bigtalk calling Oscar a bitch and promising a massacre and bleeting on about confrontation !!!

Instead what happened ? You got a fighter just squeeking by doing just enough against a fighter whose Stamina and Legs just were not there anymore !!!!!

Was this the Oscar that Rallied late against Big Punching IKe Quartey or chased down a Fernando Vargas on Steroids? ............. no !!!

He went in with Floyd Mayweather getting 10 million , a Floyd Mayweather who has talked so much S*** fought nobody throughout his career shown out against fighters like Carlos Grena , Castillio and Judah !!

How did Mayweather get the decision ? By wrenching if from aPrime Thomas Hearns ala Sugar Ray ? .............No

Did he match Sugar Shane Mosely in his title winning effort against De la Hoya , did he ever show SSM variety ,change of tact, guts ,power? ......... No

If you let Mayweather just nick a decision then your more fool than i am .

He is a bottle job !
