Why do people on this forum have a low opinion of hatton compared to mayweather

Mayweather is in a different class to hatton IMO and if they fight... Ricky will be in for one hell of an embarrassing night.

No doubt i my ind that we'll see the real Ricky Hatton against Castillo.
He's not even allowed himself to pile on the pounds this time and was on UK tv last week looking in great shape.

If Hatton was from the US it would probably be a bit different but everytime he has fought here in the US he has shown up to fight even againest Collazo but most dont believe he won that fight . I think he would have more respect if he had lost that decission because he really didnt win it. It was a Showtime thing. Using that I think he would have more respect so your looking at dollars / over respect. Lets see if he shuts down Castillo and remember I said this he will have his respect!

I think the main reason is that in all fairness, Hatton is receiving the same criticism that Floyd received a couple of years ago, and that's continuing to fight opponents who do absolutely nothing to further your legacy. Hatton has done zero since Tzsyu, but to his credit he's getting it on with Castillo, much like Floyd stepped it up when the heat from media and fans was getting too much to bear. Hopefully Ricky will continue with the exciting matchups in the near future.

I like hatton when he decides to punch, but i dislike the holding he does. His holding bores me to death.

I dont think lowly of Hatton at all. Exciting to watch, and a good fighter. But, I can't see him beating Floyd at any weight, at least not right now.
