    De La Hoya probably has the the biggest fanbase in boxing ever. If Oscar won though he would be criticized by everyone. I don't think his legacy is at all effected by this fight and it shouldn't be. But if he won it would hurt his legacy a little IMO. He has enough controversial fights

    He has lost as many close decisions as he has had go for him. And he has lost all the close decisions in the superfights.
