    Default Top 3 trilogy

    mine;

    Ali Frazier
    Pacquiao Morales
    Bowe Holyfield

    I would of include Robinson Lamotta but they fought 6times not just 3.

    other great trilogy;
    ward gatti
    Barrera Morales
    Ali Norton
    Leonard Duran

    The only fight I enjoyed of Morales - Pacquiao was the first.

    Ali - Frazier
    Ward - Gatti
    Barrera - Morales

    They are top tier imo.

    Ward - Gatti
    Barerra - Morales
    Bowe - Holyfield

    Obviously the significance of Ali - Frazier is greater than the three I chose, but I went with straight up second4second action.

    For me it has to be Barrera vs. Morales. The greatest display of tremendous skill, heart, and brutality i have ever seen.

    Ali-Frazier is the clear #1.
    Barrera-Morales is the clear #2.
    3rd place is close, but I give the edge to Bowe-Holyfield.

    As much as I loved Ward-Gatti, I can't put it top 3, because there wasn't as much at stake as there was in the other trilogies. They weren't fighting for titles, PFP status, etc.

    I loved Morales-Pac, but I can't rank it as high as Morales-Barrera. A real trilogy or rivalry has to involve some level of hatred or dislike. Morales and Pac actually liked and respected one another. You definitely can't say the same about Morales and Barrera.....

    That's one of the main reasons why I DID put Gatti - Ward on my top 3!
    Just two guys giving it all they had in the ring. And for what? No titles, statuses, or any tangibles at all. Just two evenly matched warriors gutting it out for nothing but pride and putting on a damn good show.
    I just had to rate that higher than historical significance.

    So many trilogies have been greater than Pacquaio-Morrales... for example Barrera-Morrales. Pacquaio beat him way too easily in the later parts of the second, and the whole third fight.

    Yea pac and morales are my two favorite fighter of this generation. I actually choose them because for years morales was presented as the bad guy between barrera and him. But I think the trilogy with pac define morales the most. I love the third because of how memorable it was when morales raise pacs hands after the fight. For years people thought morales was a sour loser blah blah blah. But that trilogy showed how two legend can have so much respect for one another.

    I choose that trilogy because:

    They would try to kill eachother like mab-em or gatti-ward.
    The first fight had a little of ali in it when em would mock pac during the fight.
    The third fight reminded me of leonard duran when one great fighter faces defeat. the famous "no mas"
    The second was the fall of an iron chin warrior, that is the biggest accomplishment of pac knocking out a warrior like morales that has never even been down before. Something ray robinson couldn't do to his rival iron chin bronx bull.

    I just felt that trilogy had a little of everything. it even had outside drama the whole thing with goldenboy and top rank tag a war began before the third fight. The whole b.S with pacs former promoter mohammad, the whole gloves controversy. You guys have to understand how much little of EVERYTHING WAS IN THAT FIGHT. INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE RING.
