My favorite episodes are mostly from the first season. I didn't like it too much when they got too old (How do actors start getting worse as they get older?).
Favorites:

The very first episode where Winnie's brother dies in war.
I think it's the best pilot to any t.v. show EVER.

The one where Kevin and Paul steal that sex book from the book store.
HILARIOUS times ensue.

The "cuckoo! cuckoo!" episode you mentioned.

The one where he's got that tomboy lab partner in science class. They're real close buddy-buddy and they go to the dance together. But Kevin really wanted to go with the popular girl in school.
Touching times ensue.




But I think my favorite part was that the guy who does the voice of the older Kevin Arnold goes on to become one of the robbers in Home Alone.

Kevin Arnold becomes a criminal!
