Actually Oscar was a great opponent against him. Before this fight I had 2 people that could beat Floyd:
1) Oscar De La Hoya
2) Sugar Shane Mosley
1) already beat him but 2 of the judges didn't see it this way.
2) would beat him if they fight within a year ( an older Mosley might not be the same Mosley as the one we see now).
And for those Margarito lovers, he wouldn't do crap against Floyd! I hate to say it but it's unfortunately true. Margarito is a good fighter but he is not at that level yet. I would love to see him kick Floyd's ass though but that's just a dream.![]()
You mentioned in your post that Oscar had a lot of inactivity. This just shows you what a great boxer/fighter he is. He's no longer in his prime yet he still showed us he can compete with a very good fighter (Floyd). Whoever thinks otherwise is dumb and very biased, we know he did really well against Floyd (not the pound for pound in my eyes). Emmanuel Steward agrees with me as well.
And yes that was great when Merchant asked him about the masacre...LOL. Even if Oscar was drunk, Floyd wouldn't be able to KO him.
