Once you've made 26 Million for a fight, I can see how it could be hard to go back to making 10-12 Million. It be different if Floyd felt like it would matter but he doesn't. He beat ODLH and people aren't satisfied and badmouth him just because he's not a brawling, crowd pleasing fighter. He's a smart boxer and people don't have respect for what he does anymore. Willie Pep was a feather fisted fighter but was a ring generalman and uses his smarts and skills to win fights. If Willie Pep fought today, idiots on this board would be calling him boring and would show no respect for his skill and intelligence.
Moving up to 154 to fight a fighter with a legacy like ODLH is a big accomplishment. It's much bigger than fighting any of the fights that are being mentioned like Cotto and Margarito. How do you go from fighting ODLH to fighting Margarito? That's ludicrous. If Margarito unified then called out Mayweather, it might be different but right now that fight makes no sense. The only two fights that mean something IMO are Mosley (because he's fairly popular and has wins over ODLH) and Hatton (because he's also undefeated and a huge star in Britian). To be honest, fuck Mosely. I don't blame Floyd for not wanting to fight that sparring partner. Floyd has legitimately approached this guy for a fight THREE TIMES, once in 1999 when Floyd wanted to move up from 130 to 135 and Mosley said that he would need 10 Million to take the fight (wtf?), then in November of 2006 when the fight really made a lot of sense and Mosley didn't want the fight again, then in February this year, Mosley said that he didn't wanna interfere with the ODLH fight. Mayweather hasn't been lying about chasing Mosley for years. Now all of a sudden Mosley wants the fight? Fuck you. Hatton is the fight that needs to be made. Then retire. Boxing is full of hypocrites. ODLH runs against Tito for 4 straight rounds on a HUGE PPV fight and his fans don't seem to remember that. Floyd stands and fights for the most part against ODLH and people are still talking shit.
