Yeah Sheperds pie is great stuff. Yeah, I usually make it by boiling half an onion chopped into small pieces for a few minutes then I will add the minced beef and brown it for a few minutes. I will then add 2 beef stock cubes and 400 ml of water and simmer it nicely so the gravy gets a little thickness to it. Meanwhile I will getabout 5 decent sized potatoes and boil them and then mash them. I always mash them with a splash of milk and a nice big spoon of butter. Then I line a dish with the minced beef (leaving the gravy in the pan) and put the potato over the top. I like to leave the top all ragged so that thr potato can go all crispy. After 20 minutes in a pre heated oven you have a golden brown Sheperds pie. Serve onto a plate and then heat the gravy one more time and serve gravy over the top.....and there you have it! An easy to make Sheperds pie!
