I was watching the replay this morning and have ANOTHER reason to hate merchant!!!

He was talking bad about Spinks from jump start, saying that Spinks will be seen as just being there for a pay day(referencing that he came in at 160 instead of lighter) and Spinks goes out and puts on a hell of a performance(and I think he beat Taylor) And Merchant still talks bad about Spinks.

FUCK LARRY MERCHANT!!! FUCK HIS LOOK DOWN TO FINISH SENTENCES ASS!!!!

winky wright is now ranked the #1 MW on boxrec

    the scores

Judge: Dick Flaherty 111-117 | Judge: Michael Pernick 115-113 | Judge: Gale Van Hoy 117-111 ~

i think van hoye was the one i saw looking at the canvas during the round, either ignoring the fight or already giving the round to taylor

That was a frustrating fight to watch. I was actually yelling at my tv for Jermain to let his hands go but he never really did. He landed a couple nice shots here and there but he didnt get any combos together.

That was the worst championship fight I have scene in years. I dont know what was more fun that undercarded so called main event or runing my wiener through a meat grinder. You should expect more out of two champs.

You speak as if the meat grinder is such a poor alternative.

Due to the fact that he's trying to portray Taylor as this nigh invulnerable fighter that everyone dodges.

No one wanted to take the gotdam fight because it was in Taylor's backyard & you'd have to get a fwockin knockout to get the win.

Fighters aren't stupid, especially ones that are either undefeated or high profile, when it comes to their records or their belts.

I wouldn't have taken the fight either...not unless it was on nuetral ground.
I laughed all the way through it...
That shit! was funny as hell hearing that....
Mechant also said 'DiBella is a promoter, sooo he will say somethings that might not be true' (something like that)

You really missed out on IMO, a possible runner for FOTY.

Starr the fight was close, closer than it should have been. Lampley would say you should have your judging license revoked but hey, Taylor is the one with the hbo contract. Spinks should have worked more IMO if he wanted the nod. Taylor looked either confused or scared the whole night, every time he would throw a good combo he would just stop. Spinks did fight his fight but Taylor won if you ask me, ugly but he still won.

What a God-awful excuse for a championship bout. Pavlik and Miranda were the true stars of the night, though I think we all knew that they would be. Props to Pavlik, as a Miranda fan I thought right away that this was a risky, dangerous fight for Miranda, and Pavlik executed a solid gameplan, stuck too it after getting hit with some hard punches early, and came out with the win. He seemed like a nice, humble guy, and I will certainly be rooting for him if he ever gets his long awaited title shot against Jermaine Taylor (who I think will duck Pavlik just like he ducked Miranda... fucking coward (edit: no fighter is a coward and I take that comment back, it was written out of anger, not out of fact or knowledge), I have more respect for Calzaghe's choice of opposition, at least he fights them like it means something.)
How Taylor can talk about fighting for the most money at this point is beyond me, he needs to work on earning back some respect.
I, and almost every other boxing fan I know, have absolutely zero respect for his skills, and his bearing and actions are not those of a champion. He lost to Hopkins at least once, I don't know how anybody with half a brain could say that Winky didn't beat him, the only reason Winky looked so busted up was from headbutts, and now Taylor picks opponents and fights them as if he is afraid to lose. I used to think Sergio Mora would have gotten KTFO fighting Taylor, now I think he, and any other MIDDLEWEIGHT top 10 challenger would UD'd Jermaine's ass easily, and Calzaghe will knock him out cold.

I like it. I have been saying Taylor is going to be ducking them too(Miranda & Pavlik). I also think that Pavliks chin is world class. He took three square shots in a row and kept pressing. Talyor dosent swat like Pantera and he difinetly dosent swat like Pavlik. Some one please tell Taylor he is not a junior middle weight. So stop with the Ouma and the Spinks's and the Winky Wright's. And start looking to the guys who really deserve it. Like Pavlik. He is a great human being and he respects the sport and he dosent come off like a Mayweather. He seems pretty humble and thats this sport needs. But good lord that kid from youngstown can swat. +1 for you

He fought the best 154 pounder and got beat.

Who wants to see de la Hoya and Spinks with Jermain Taylor vs. Kelly Pavlik as the undercard?
