Yup, Honestly that's the only fight that I saw of Pavlik but It was like "I became a fan at first fight"
The kid seems like the complete package.

Also, try to get a cable TV contract. HBO is owned by Time Warner, so why not get an hour long block of boxing, like UFC has with UFC Unleashed on one of the Time Warner stations? Like a UPN type channel, or TNT when basketball season is out. Something like that, but not a lot of people have HBO. If it was on network TV more, the PPV demands wouldn't be so outrageous.

The Contender was a start, and it showed boxing can survive on regular television (as if that needed to be proved), Tarver and Dawson fighting on ABC is even better, now let's get a syndicated program for boxing on the airwaves

It's these type of things I hope Oscar can do because he is the only promoter I've heard mention it.

I am ready to accept Floyd mayweather as a superstar fighter on the same level as ODLH, Hopkins, he can be one of the brightest stars if he just changed his persona a bit. He is likeable if you get past the brash exterior. You can see he just wants to be appreciated. He isnt a bad guy as many people think. He has flaws just like every one of us if he was a tad bit more humble he would be considered all time great.

I could care less if he is a jerk...I just want him to quit saying shit like " I'm the best " " I've fought the best "...just back it up. He should fight guys that will challenge him. Isn't that how you become great in boxing? His toughest fight has been with DLH and in my opinion Oscar won that. Win or lose though, that's not the point...the point is he needs more of these type of fights.

His last fight he fought in Southern California I didn't see (First fight of his I haven't seen but I know a guy who should have a copy of it) but against Julio Jean he looked very good.

He finally showed a real meanstreak, Julio Jean intentionally headbutted him drawing blood under the eye. Ward said something to him, threw some soft jabs, waited for Jean to punch off the ropes and then hit him with a killer right hand. Jean got hurt and Ward threw like 10 right hands in a row before finally taking him out.

He also went southpaw a bit, and the straight left hand worked a little but his balance southpaw looks like it did when he was just turning pro. I'm sure he'll improve on that though. He looks GOOD.

Sounds heads and shoulders above how he used to look. I want to see these fights get TV exposure!! What happened to him fighting on the best damn fight nights

He stopped that. It was to much pressure early on in his career, he doesn't let on to that but everyone else around them do. Talked quite a bit about that very fact to him, Virgil Hunter his trainer, the Goosens and everyone agreed that the temporary break from TV and subsequent thumb injury was a blessing in discuse for Andre. The thumb injury kept him out of the ring for 7 months but never kept him out of the gym.

He's improved ten fold since, especially with his balance. I haven't seen him fall in with his right foot in 4 fights, something he did 10 times a round when he was starting out.

It was just a publicity issue. He had a lot of scheduling issues with Team Jordan and HBO, and it was tying him up. He's got that under control now and is making it back on TV on the Williams - Margarito undercard.

Plus, the fights in San Jose were on Thursdays which isn't really a prime slot for boxing. But the Goosens, say what you want about them, they are bringing him up right. They don't have any timetables right now and that's a good thing.

I think Cotto has a chance to shine, Andre Berto is a future prospect and I'd say that as he's studying for a law degree and is a unified champ at a very early age....we should be getting behind Juan Diaz because that bwoy is gunna be a star.

Plus because I said he's gunna be a star, it'll more than likely happen because I said it and I'm a legend.

Maybe slightly too early after only the one bout at heavyweight but as far as that division goes Im pinning my hopes my David Haye to emerge as the big super star. Who knows though, there was a time when I had big hopes for Audley.

It won't happen man. Haye said he only wants WBC titles and has no interest in defending. He said if he wins WBC cruiser, he moves up without defending...and if he wins WBC Heavy, he'll retire without defending...a very happy man. Hard to build a star when he's not interested in defending.

Where'd you hear this? I know he wont stay at Cruiser but I would of thought he'd be at Heavy for a while. Besides almost every boxer says hes gonna retire after this or that but how many actually do? Once he sees the money he'll be offered for some of those heavyweight fights I think he'd change his mond.
