wow, how the tides have turned..This is quite amusing actually.
Everyone is jumping on the blame steward bandwagon, but if you actually watched the entire fight, even after the decision you could fully understand JT's mentality going into that fight. After the fight he was quoted saying "I'm the champ, he cant take my title running" To me that says JT did not want to give his full effort in that fight, he felt he had it won before the opening bell, and did not have any sense of urgency. That has to be the most frustrating thing to know as a trainer, from round one manny told him to stop thinking so much with spinks and BANG those punches!
steward has done this for all his life, anyone thinking that he's losing his touch because one knucklehead thinks he's too good to try is ludicrous.
For steward to act the way he did, is completely attributed to the way JT was acting as a professional. It must be hard to train guys with a warrior spirit like holyfield, hearns, lewis, ODLH, then to go to JT who did not want to fight, must of been so aggravating. If JT drops steward I'm not to sure that steward will mind much.
