Monkey entertainment is subjective...To each his own. we get it you dont enjoy the sport. The whole former british empire loves cricket, i could care less for it, but that doesn't make it any less of a sport or its participants some washed up baseball wannabees. I grew up in Texas and chose not to play HS football. This is a serious sin in Tx towns. Instead I chose to play soccer and run track. This choise doesn't make me some jock sniffing loser who couldn't cut it on the gridiron
Its boring as hell to me,its not good at any one thing
Nothing honed,no prefection
How it really looks to me
"Paddy cake with the hands, one half assed kick, and then roll around on the mat until conclusion"
Its jack of all trades, master of nothing, and honestly I think it looks vaguely gay(not that theres anything wrong with that)
Its not a honed, skilled, and trained martial art,so it bores the piss out of me
I'm going to half way agree with you on one thing....I don't think that the training and skill sets in MMA are as technical as the ones that are required in boxing. I think MMA is a sport that puts much more emphasis on physical abilities. Things like hand speed(or foot), punching power, strength, cardio agility and reflexes are more important than throwing a picture perfect jab or utilizing a great shoulder role in MMA. The aspects of submission wrestling are very technical but unless you compete in it and can look very amateurish. If great boxers are 60% technique and 40% athleticism then I'd say MMA is the opposite
At the highest level I disagree. Randy Coutoure has consistently proven it's not about physical youth and energy and imo to throw the perfect leg kick, like Cro Cop for example takes every bit as much skill as throwing a punch.

MMA stars have a different throw style to boxers because the gloves are different. It's like comparing a swordsman's style to someone skilled with an axe. His movements will be different because of the weapon he uses, and UFC fighters use totally different gloves to boxers.

The same defensive and offensive skills in boxing won't work in the UFC and vice versa because the gloves are a completely different size, shape and form. You can't compare.
