I don't know who promotes the Peterson's but they're doing a great job with the match-ups, they're always in good fights with guys with a good level of durability, tehy're both learning what it takes to be a professional at a great pace.

i think this fellow was a last min replacment? kinda risky with the southpaw. I would like to have some time to prepare for a southpaw .

Its incredible isn't it, just how many fighters under use their jabs. The fact is though, it's really hard work to throw lots of jabs, most guys can't afford to be throwing so many.

you make a good point , however the jab kinda comes off funny vs a southpaw. especially if you didnt train for it.

nice match ... good win for Peterson

Too soon to be asking for title shots but they saying the right things, thats half the battle these days I guess.

He isn't ready for Diaz yet, but I'd say he's on his way. He's green still though which is something I don't think his brother is. I think LG was right about the jab versus the southpaw being the thing. I don't think the jab would have gone a long way in setting up the punches and since the other guy was loading up on straight shots, it was probably the right move. I don't think the guy was short notice though, I'm pretty sure it's been scheduled for a while. I liked the short punching though, I really did. And he had good spacing for his punches, I liked it. He fell in with the right hand a little bit sometimes, but he would do the right thing and step back a little bit and keep punching.

Jose did pretty good though. I was scepticle of his record, but he is really a relentless guy, and in the first round he caught Peterson flush.

Considering he knew nothing about Cruz and he was a southpaw, I thought he did good. Still work to do but it's encouraging to see them taking the gradual steps up. Lamont stole the show though. He looked awesome. I wouldn't mind seeing him take on someone like Rogelio Casteneda.

Also, big ups to Steve Francis, NBA basketball player. He's been working hard at trying to promote for years. He's attended promoter classes, sat in on HBO board meetings, sat in on Top Rank meetings and finally got in with PMG Boxing. This was his first card, and I think he did a damned fine job. This was really an excellent showcase, as good of a prospect showcase as there has been so far this year.
