Great post man. CC. Boxing has treated its fans like mindless pieces of S*** for way too long, the mindset of most promoters in boxing seems to be that we should be happy to eat whatever bullshit they are feeding us, and tough for us if we don't like it. Rather than the differences between the sports, that above all else is probably what is propelling UFC above boxing in the casual fans mind. Look at the difference between the Contender and the Ultimate Fighter - one has a glossy, manipulated, and ultimately phony product, the other is as real as it gets. I honestly prefer the Contender, because of my love for boxing, but there is no doubt which is the better, more honest show. That in itself is a microcosm of what is wrong with our beloved sport.
Mma won't hurt boxing, it can only make it better. Boxing still has a huge and i mean HUGE fanbase despite all of its current problems. Boxing being in a state of dispair (as you would cal it) is the only thing giving the ufc a chance.
