In the ring Gerald McClellan could be likened to a machine, systematically destroying his opponents with those lacerating straight punches.
On the other hand one could argue G-man was nothing like a machine, he was more animalistic, as he was driven by raw, visceral emotion. He hated the man in the opposite corner and would not be discouraged from claiming his scalp.
I believe this sentiment was felt by Gerald in light of his entire career, I think he felt, to stop him winning and stop him becoming an all time great, someone would have to leave him blind, deaf and paralysed.
Such a shame thats exactly what happened![]()
