I think the fact is that Roy was exceptional. I think he should have fought more of the great fighters because he would have come out ahead and proved how good he really was.. To me his power and skills were better than Floyd by a mile. Floyd is good defensively when a punch comes toward Floyd he is not hit but it comes close. Roy was missed by feet and it did not come close. Even on the ropes he was not hit. He had a radar sort of like Wilfred Benitez, yet he had more power than Wilfred. Roy was like Wilfred Benitez with power. And Roy would counter incredibly well. A guy who beat Roy would have to jab him and not make any stupid mistakes. my feeling is Roy was skillwise one of the best ever but not Floyd.
Can i just ask who else could Roy of fought ??
A rematch with Toney to prove that the first fight was not a fluke, Maske, Williams, Eubank, Benn, and even Hearns. Hearns was still somewhat good in 1996,. But I admit Jones would have probably won at that point. I just think Jones avoided the top 3 or 4 guys at the weights he fought and fought the 5-10 rated guys too much which is the same thing Virgil Hill did in his lightheavyweight reign.. But the fact is he was so dominant, I think he would have beaten them all.
he beat toney's ass for 12 rounds that's not a fluke....a lucky KO is a fluke..like mccall-lewis...and there was no need to avenge a sound victory...and its funny that everytime someone mentions these guys that he didn't fight (the europeans) they always assume roy was ducking them, then say I think roy would have beaten them all....it makes more sense that they avoided roy...darius was sitting ringside when roy fought virgil hill after that body shot he hopped on a plane never to return to the U.S., i don't doubt that eubank, benn, williams, and anyone else was thinking the same thing as Darius when they watched roy fight which was

"Hell NO, I don't want any part of that guy"
