I actually have tyson ranked third if its on a "Who would beat who" principle. Now if you're doing it in terms of legacy than no way is tyson in the top 10.
He completely dominated the world of Heavyweight boxing for 4 years and unified the belts, can you find 9 others that did that?
Unifying a split title isn't as impressive as guarding a Solid title against the best in the division. When there was only one title, you had to fight the best because there was no way around it. Somebody could unify 3 of the 4 belts today and not have to thru wlad how does that sit with you? You could pay for an abc title and fight some bum to get it. That 4 year span took place in his first 5 years of boxing. 5 years does not constitute greatness. But again i'll say on his best night he was probably the 3rd toughest heavyweight to face all time.
But he didb't duck anybody or fail to fight anybody he should have
Yes but he did all that before he was 25. If lebron retires at 25 do you still think people are gonna put him in the all-time great players list? No. By that time he'll have a title for sure but you can't say that something somebody did before they even made it into their late 20's warrants them being considered the top 10 of all time.
