Default Here's why PBF-Margarito will NEVER happen

Forget what you might have read Bob Arum said. Fact is, PBF will never fight Margarito. Why?

1- Margarito is not a PPV draw. That would only be an HBO Boxing after dark fight. Not enough money for Floyd.

2- When Oscar handles Mayorga, he and PBF have a date in September for some serious PPV dollars.

The bottom line is dollars and cents. PBF cant make much against a fighter who, outside of us die hard fans, is not very popular with the average sports fan. A Mosley fight is a PPV. A Hatton fight is a PPV. Even a Judah rematch (please, no!) is a PPV. A Margarito fight is not, and PPV is where the money is.

I consider Roy Jones to be atleast 70% more exciting than Floyd Mayweather and he wasn't a PPV fighter.... Seriously Floyd needs to be a little more exciting and determined to win if he's gonna continue with the PPV nonsense.

Excellent points Raleights,PBF might be exciting to us conisseurs but I doubt he captures the imagination of the average fan. Bababooey,Arum is offering $5mill to Floyd to fight Margarito AND Margarito is starting to become more well known PLUS the Mexican/Latino people are ALWAYS behind their man!!1 Also,Arum has said whilst he is promoting Floyd, there is NO chance of Oscar fight happening AND Oscar is starting to talk more and more about a potential rematch with Tito which would be waaaay bigger than a Floyd fight. There would be no "thug" image to appeal to sooo

Good points but I slightly disagree with something. Floyd will never be as big a ppv draw as Oscar but he doesn't have to. Most of Roy's fights were ppv and Jones never sold nearly as many ppvs as Oscar, nor did he fight household names. Roy wasn't as huge as Oscar, but he was big enough to make profits for ppv fights, and that's how Floyd has now become. Roy vs. Julio Gonzales was ppv for crying out loud, and this is at a point where Roy was being criticized for not trying to end fights, but merely satisfied with winning boring lopsided decisions. I'm not so sure Oscar will want to fight Mayweather, because Oscar can get $15 million for whoever he fights, it's not money with him, it's legacy, and losing to Floyd would crush his legacy. Don't be surprised if Mayorga is his last fight.

Even though Tito is retired, I think $$$ can bring anyone back and I know Oscar whenever asked about Tito always speaks of revenge and how he was robbed. Even though both are past their primes,I think if Oscar has lost the movement,Tito can win. The power always stays.

What power, did u notice how after the Hopkins camp discovered Tito's padded gloves how his power faded, i cannot beleive how many shots it took for him to stop Mayorga the man with no deffense. Oscar easily defeats Tito in a rematch.

I used to believe in that, until the Hopkins fight. Hopkins even said it himself.

"Bernard, why is Oscar fighting you?"

"Because he has 30 million reasons to fight me."

Then the fight happened... Oscar didn't look like he wanted to win. Pardon me if you guys thought he dominated the first 6 rounds. Hopkins simply didn't really do anything in the first 6, even if he could have. THIRTY MILLION dollars is a looooottttaaa money. And he could even earn more in a Mayweather fight.

Just as Britkid used the phrase "respect the sport." And how Nigel Benn stopped respecting the sport post McClellen fight.

I believe Oscar has stopped respecting the sport since the Sturm fight.

Roy Jones Jr. was only exciting early in his career... Can you truly tell me he is more exciting when he would just toy with opponents for 12 rounds... At least Mayweather tries to get the guy out of there, and is willing to take a hit to get the job done.

First off number 2 ain't gonna happen, secondly yes it can be a PPV. Let Margarito beat the winner of Baldomir vs Gatti, then Floyd could try to unify the titles against Margarito and it would be a big event. Believe me if Jones(God bless him) vs Gonzalez was a PPV, Margarito vs Floyd could also be one.

despite what PBF thinks he isn't a PPV draw. Since his opponents have been the reason the PPV was a big deal. Let PBF fight one of his "tune" fights on PPV and see how many draws he gets.

Judah would have to be fighting someone that everyone wants to see PBF fight, to be a draw.

Roy Jones fought Gonzales on HBO it wasn't PPV...
