Last summer when it was 90+ degrees outside I had a gas station sller send me back out into the blazing heat with a bottle of water because all I had was my ATM card and he wanted me to spend $10.00 or more. Truthfully I told him that I only had $7.00 in the account. He just said, "sorry."
I was NOT happy. Anyway, I told the story to a friend that used to work at a gas station and he told me that the stores have to pay a fee for using the card swiper and unless you spend $10.00 they actually lose money on the deal. Can anyone back up this claim?
