Just a bunch of obscure guys Moore, Chuvalo, Cooper, Bonavena.
No one that really mattered during THAT time.

Moore was like 40 + wasn't he way past it Oscar was ok aswell but he wasn't great i know he floored Frazier twice but Frazier was very green but Oscar had amazing chin Coopers rise to fame was knocking down Ali but other than that he was just middle of the road in boxing and again Oscar is just like Chuvalo great chin but not great skills or anything else just a brawler.

Wait a minute but just a few weeks ago you were praising them for what they had done to Ali.
Now they are flawed and were just OK fighters?

Fact of the matter is during the time THOSE were the top guys around if you notice they almost all show up on the records of the top Heavys of those days but ONLY the best beat them.

Lewis ducked Byrd. gave up one of his belts rather than fight him, that's a duck. what makes it funny to me is that he called Bowe a coward and said Bowe disrespected the sport of boxing by giving up his belt rather than face him. then he turns around and does the same thing when Byrd became the #1 contender. kinda hypocriticle don't you think?

Sorry but when did i praise Chuvalo and Oscar

They were tough brawlers and nothing more

And Cooper was good at domestic level and that was it

    And Moore was a grandfather.

They were only contenders nothing more and them names don't get you into top 10 hws and im not even sure they were ever top 5 contenders anyway maybe Oscar was once and only once but none of the others were i don't believe.

You praised them in the sense that you were listing fighters with whom Ali struggled with and mentioned ALL the trouble Ali had with them and so on and so on.
You praised them in that sense.

I think it's in one of those looooong as Ali threads....

still doesn't take away the fact that he did the axact same thing he berated Bowe for doing. Byrd was a bad matchup for him. any fighter that showed movement and didn't stand there and let him tee off, gave him a lot of problems. Lewis was never good at moving his feet and cutting off the ring. McCall, Rahman, and a washed up Holyfield who for some reason took him 24 rounds proved that. not saying Byrd would have beat him but his style made Lewis avoid him.

I don't think i mentioned them but he never had any trouble with Moore or Chuvalo the Oscar fight was little bit of a struggle but Ali was very stale in that fight and still knocked him down 3 times if i did mention them then i was having dumb moment at that time lol i go through them patches like everyone does

Actually i remember mentioning Cooper but only struggle Ali had was knockdown he was always in control of the fight.

Byrd was easy match up for him Lewis was alot bigger had the jab to win actually he had everything to beat Byrd just like Wlad done twice beat him to a pulp and actually i think i remember this there was choice of fighting Byrd or Grant wasn't it ?? and he chose Grant who was undefeated and beat Golota i would of chose Grant aswell bigger fight bigger money.

Vlad is more mobile than Lewis. and as far as Grant goes, his record was bloated, he was very inexperienced, and did exactly what Lewis liked, just stood there and allow Lewis to tee off. Byrd would've made him move his feet and cut off the ring. i know you Lewis fans hate to admit it but those were his 2 biggest weaknesses. he HATED to move his feet and that's why he never gave Byrd his title shot.

you can flip and mode the facts anyway you want...lol. the facts remain he gave up one of his belts to fight a young, over-rated, inexperience, immobile fighter in Grant rather than fight the #1 contender in Byrd who EARNED his shot. the very thing he rediculed Bowe for doing when he throw his WBC belt in the garbage rather than face Lewis. those are the hard facts. you may not like them but that doesn't change them...lol.
