    PS
Jones himself said Eubank was the only fighter who would cause him real problems and the only fighter who could give him a challenge
Uhh no im not Eubank had close decisions against Ray Close and Sugar Boy Malinga Roy koed his a** in 6 Roy would easily beat Eubank end of Eubank even said he would lose so there you have it.
He lost both fights against Close and looked S***, and yeah Jones would beat that Eubank fairly easily (esp the one at King's Hall who could barely move). But Roy Jones wasn't a natural pressure fighter

Eubank's effort against Malinga was very, very low - Malinga caused him no problems. Infact he caused Jones more problems, Jones had to resort to feints
Jones koed his ass in 6 no problems at all Jones is gifted great talent possibly fastest hands ever p4p and has great power he is too good for Eubank im sorry.

IMO this fight would be closer than most of you are making out. Yes RJJ was a great fighter (notice the was) but Eubank was pretty damn good himself! I'd go for a Jones win on points (80%) with a small chance that Eubank would manage to pull off an upset if he somehow managed to test Jones not so rock solid chin.

this isn't hindsight were're talking about...roy back then took solid punches on the chin and he'd be fighting at 168 not 175..tarver walks around around 200 and caught roy with the perfect punch...roy moved alot back then and would have stood there and waited on the punch..prime roy jones easily beats eubank, collin, benn, darius, all the europenas that were fighting back then he'd stop every last one of them.... chris is the only one that might make it to a lopsided decision.....

Eubank would make Jones look stupid for a few rounds, but Jones would just out-work him and out-hussle him

I remember in 93 Jones said "I know the way to beat Eubank", and I often wonder what it was

How? I can't think of one fighter in the history of boxing who would be able to make Jones look stupid (without knocking him out). Eubank was real good but how is he going to go about making Jones look stupid??

Oh come on, this is Chris Eubank we're talking about! Probably the most unorthodox boxer ever.

Eubank made all his opponents look stupid.

Jones was very much a pouncing fighter, Eubank would keep moving out of range and Jones would really struggle to get to grips with him early doors

I guess me and you have different definitions on what making someone stupid really is. Eubank was unorthodox but I see nothing in his style that would be capable of making Jones look stupid. I don't see how he could out manuever Jones and keep him out of range, if Roy wanted to be in range he would be there.

    You must be British...

Must be...Roy was one of quickest fighters in history..and to think Eubank would be quick enough to move out of range is absurd..eubank would lose a lopsided decision and that's me being nice because i like eubank..when truthfully he'd get stopped by the SMW version of roy jones...

Sorry guys but we have to agree to disagree and Jones does too!

Eubank always made opponents fall short the sway out of distance, he had those high hips that allowed him to do it. Also, his ring generalship was the best I've seen. He'd make Jones look bad for a few rounds, there's no question about that. Jones doesn't have the right style.

Jones may very well beat Eubank. But by that margin?!

Absolute bollocks. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but really.

Well does it matter 10-2 or 12-0 it would be easy decision.

Jones would probably win, but to say it would be a Calzaghe: Lacy style fight was too much. Eubank was extremely unorthodox and who is to say how that style would really have played against Jones. Eubank prior to Watson 2 was also a dangerous puncher when up against it too...

I would suggest that prime against prime Eubank loses by UD but in an edgy contest where Jones is made to have a tough night and eat some glove.

I gotta agree with Miles and the rest.
Eubank was a extremely dangerous customer

Just dug this old thread out. I'm quite shocked at how much of a chance people think Eubank would have had against a Prime RJJ. Roy was a monster at 168 and for me could well have been p4p the greatest ever there. He totally schooled Toney at that weight and Toney for me would have comfortably beat Eubank too.

I've always been a huge Eubank fan but to think he causes Jones any REAL trouble for me is a bit far fetched. I respect that everyone is entitled their own opinion though and I respect that Eubank was an elite fighter so I suppose he is entitled to his defence on here.

Looking at what happened with a common opponent in Malinga though, you have to say Jones did a much, much better job.

I gotta admit that I am suprised at the chances people are giving Eubank. I agree that Chris was an unorthodox fighter who would've gave Roy problems but only for the first couple of rounds. After that I see Jones winning an easy decision(something like 9-3) or possibly getting Eubank out of there. A lot of people don't wanna admit it because he was a cocky mofo who got on my nerves at times but prime Roy was just too much God given talent. Reflexes, hand speed, etc........
