Losing to Joe Calzaghe is nothing to be ashamed of, and Lacy could learn more from that loss to make him a better fighter then he would have if he had knocked out Joe.

What Joe did to Lacy actually gives Lacy a better chance in the future of the best to expect which will make him more prepared, had he never tasted Joe Calzaghe, he may have never gotten further then the Lacy we saw against Wiggins.
