I am an MMA fan and i can tell you i don't want Kimbo to win and i'll be backing Mercer. Kimbo isn't an MMA fighter he's a brawling thug with some skills.

Hopefully Mercer will do a number on Kimbo and stop this pathetic bandwagon he has. All he's done is beaten complete and utter street bums who couldn't fight sleep.

he fights internet famed backyard brawler KIMBO SLICE later this month in a cage fight, the fans of such formats ( UFC, MMA, K-1 ) are saying this will prove that MMA format fighters are better then boxers, that KIMBO will prove this by beating RAY MERCER.......................RAY is now nearly 50 while KIMBO is 31

Lets just get something straight....No real MMA fan is using this fight as some litmus test in regards to the boxing vs mma debate...This is a circus act and in no way should be looked at as anything but a spectacle and joke....It may be in a cage, but I doubt it goes to the ground...If Ray doesn't KO slice I'll be suprised, and you can mark me down as one of those alleged "tattoo having bar brawler with no skills" mma fan.

As a boxer Ray is sadly very faded - he's just to old and his toughness is no longer. His training habits have never been the best.
If he has anything left then he will beat Kimbo who is lacking in stamina and not the most accurate of punchers.

Regardless of who wins it proves nothing.

i aggree that this fight may prove little other then attention seeking for the promoters but it would be nice to see a true boxer with a olimpic gold medal and good pro c.v beat a street brawler living of the fame of beating some other no hopers

if ray does have anything left in the tank then he'll need to use it quick as he'll most prob run out of gas very quickly........................lets hope the mercer in the cage that night can get the job done

Yeah, the thing that bothers me about Mercer is he threw that fight against Briggs in my mind. So its possible he will throw this fight. McCall is a head case, but his pride and anger won't let him go down without a good fight, let alone ever think about throwing a fight, or just start crying... Seriously though for an old dude, McCall is still scary and would destroy Kimbo IMO.

That is a strong possibility. I was one of the few who paid to see that and I thought Mercer was winning the fight. Still, maybe Mercer just got caught upside the melon by a pineapple.

The only reason Mercer would fight Kimbo or any professional boxer would fight Kimbo is if they are finished in the professional ranks.
