I'm scared about that too SweetPea. I love EM but a win over Diaz would not mean he could hand with the elite at the weight. IF he does win,I hope he calls it a day.

RAheem was lucky that day, unfocus eric showed up that night. He clearly under estimated raheem. Look at when eric decided to get in the fight he whoop raheem with one hand and knock him down.

Say Morales wins (but still looks old), and then Marquez can't get a fight with either Pac or MAB, would Marquez take the big money and fight Morales at 135? Ya, he might. And I think he would beat up Erik.
You guys are looking down at eric way too much. marquez will not beat up eric if he moves up to 135 that is very unlikely.

I'll remember all the names thinking eric is just a push over now and will get easily beaten by anyone just because the best in the featherweight took him out.

Who said he's a pushover who will get beaten by anyone?

We're saying he's a fighter who has been thru a TON of brutal wars, who has absorbed a ton of punches, who has now lost 3 fights in a row (and 4 out of 5), and is moving up in weight to a division where he's fought once before and was completely dominated.

his not the only one whos been thru a TON of brutal wars thats no excuse specially for great fighters such as eric. he lost 4 out of 5 thats true, very close one to mab. two knock out lost to pacman. and one bad night against raheem. he ain't done no shame in losing to two greatest fighters ever in the featherweight mab and pac, and have a bad night against a very complicated fighter raheem.

his last fight against pac, he caught pac with a lot of shots that would k.o other fighters.

    1. Name another active fighter who has been in as many brutal wars against top-notch opponents as Erik Morales.
    2. No one said he should be ashamed of the way he's fought, or ashamed of the people he has lost to. You're making up arguments that don't exist.

If MAB bounced back from his knock out losses and gained back his excellent reputation, why can't EM do the same thing?

There are differences. MAB's 2 KO losses to Jones were over a decade ago, early in his career (and it took him a few years to get over them). Morales is much older than Barrera was then.

Yes, Barrera also took the beating against Pac, but he has not been in the same number of wars as Morales. Morales has been in two epic trologies, and has also had wars against the likes of Zaragoza, Injin Chi, etc. Barrera made a big switch in his style before the Hamed fight to become more of a boxer. if Barrera never changed, he wouldn't still be an effective fighter today. Morales never did that, he has been a high-contact fighter his whole career.

Also, a BIG factor, is that Morales' body has been greatly worn down over the years because he has had to starve himself over and over again to make weight. That kills a fighter's body and makes a fighter older than he really is. Barrera never had the struggles with weight that Erik had.

i think pacstraightleft was referring to MAB when he bounced back after his lost to pac and not to junior jones (or maybe both?).
you have very good points on MAB's adjusting his style while morales retains his and also with morales' weight problem.

    I'll name you two;

pacman( all of his fights are wars)

mabman( he invented wars in the ring)

jmm(you can even argue this guy is in a war since his encounter with pacman I guess war is addictive)
