    Default Hatton still wants Mayweather

Don't know if anyone has posted this yet but this is the fight that has to happen provided Ricky wins this weekend in Vegas.

Ricky Hatton says he is still hoping for a fight against Floyd Mayweather despite the self-styled "Pretty Boy" announcing his retirement after last month's win over Oscar De La Hoya.

....if this is true hatton is silly...i'm not even sure he'll win this weekend. Everyone WANTS pbf but there isn't anyone i can think of right now that can beat him. That's good news for some bad for others i guess...

I agree. But if Hatton wants to be remembered as one of the best he has to take on the best in order to be considered as one of the best. He's right now at a level where he needs to take all the mega matches as possible. If he doesn't do this he will keep racking up wins from nobodies and everyone will say that most of his opponents were handpicked and that is why he had such a good record.

If he wants to be remembered as one of the best he better get his butt back up to 147 where Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, and Williams are all willing and ready to fight him. The guy already came out and said he'd want to fight Oscar at 147, so that means he can fight at 147. After Castillo, 140 is a waste land and him remaining there will destroy his legacy forever.

this is the only fight at 140 left for hatton which will do his legacy any good, he could fight Witter in a home comming fight, but after that its gota be 147 for him. thats where the fights are at and i believe he move up in weight, coz rickys got the balls to fight all these guys

I agree with you he needs to go to 147 in order to clash with all the superstars at the moment in the division, but I don't have the same faith in him at Welter, he's too short for the big guys, don't get me wrong he's got the frame of a tank but he's too short to clash against the likes of Margarito, DLH or Williams.

For what? Hatton should be worrying about Castillo, not Mayweather

I agree here. Hatton has a difficult task in hand. Hearing Hatton talk about PBF and recently DLH is a bit odd really. He needs to make an impression and to make it soon. Squeaking past Collazo and then wasting time with Urango doesnt merit getting a break against the top dogs...

Hatton is good but Floyd's style is a style which Hatton would lose to. Cotto/Hatton would be great. Cotto might punch too hard.

The way Mayweather has been speaking recently, i think it could because i feel Hattons team might well be able to come up with $$, which could be intresting, especially as Mayweather will be more known to the casual fan becasue of his win over Dela Hoya, i no for a fact alot of people in my area have been asking me more questions about Mayweather since that fight, one question which i was had a pound for everytime i have been asked it is, " do you think Hatton could beat Mayweather" and them questions are from guys who actully think Amir Kahns the best in the world right now.
