    They are not saying Vargas is great but he only lost to great fighters....Ray Mercer isn't great either but he's on your list

    Wilfredo Rivera. Gave Whitaker 2 tough fights. Put vargas down hard before being KOed himself. Gave Mosley a hard welcome to the 147 lb division. Also has a loss to DLH (was stpped on a cut, he never went down, if I remember correctly).

    He loss two fights against not so great fighters later on his career though.

    Tough guy.

    I forgot about Ike. 2 of those losses were pretty darn close too.

    Well yeah but your post doesn't explain it like that....it just says 'Vargas.. won't be considered great' then lists some other guys

    Randy Shields was a good fighter.. Not great but good. He was inducted into the California hall of fame a year ago or so.
