Bernard got bad press over here because of the out of touch 'what planet are they on' PC brigade

He should have been on tv more but was an outcast from the 80s.

I recognize him for what he was - a comedy genius

He took the piss out of everyone short people, fat people , bald people, black people, brown people , ginger people...etc...etc....etc....

it was FUNNY ! it wasn't racist.

I saw clips of him eating in his local indian restaurant and taking the piss outof the staff and they were just laughing along with it.

Michael Winner was writing a tribute in paper defending Bernard saying how he booked him for a Jewish do and Bernard was cracking Jewish gags - the audience were pissing themselves with laughter.

One gag was quoted . Manning said "I had a relative who died at Auschwitz so its not funny really - he fell of the guard tower !"

You can either take a joke or you can't. The PC brigade are arseholes.
