Damn... you guys are short-sighted.
Exactly what "real matchups" has he avoided?
It's well documented that he avoided Margarito's 8 million dollar check years before he even stepped in the ring with Oscar. That is as EXACT as it gets. Mayweather says he won't fight him until he fights Oscar, which didn't happen until years after the 8 million offer was made. And with the help of HBO, he managed to steer away from tough young welterweights, like Kermit Cintron, and faced old and done Sharmba Mitchell ? wtf? He's a real bad@ss. Mosely even has the b@lls to face a young and tough welterweight in David Estrada. I was a true hardcore fan, I knew who Estrada was, before he met Mosley. I saw he was one young tough sunuvabiatch with promise. We knew Mosley would win, but it's nice to see how he deals with a young determined talented man. Mayweather should handle fights like Estrada and Cintron, but those are interesting matchups to hardcore fans. (Actually Cintron has a BIG chance now that he's grown as a fighter.) Meanwhile Floyd still turns down a then career high 8 mill in Margarito... who if he's such a chump, then take the money and "easily" win. Then Judah loses in a laughable fight to Baldo, and the pound for pound king says that he's the best choice for "the best" ? wtf ? Well, since Baldomir has matched Mayweather in defeating both Judah and Gatti... that's pretty embarrasing right? This old, clumsy man, who's as fast as mud, has matched you with your best recent wins, right? NOW he HAS to fight HIM! Then he fights Baldo in un-spectacular fashion... or should I say one-punch fashion. During all this time he convinces more people that he's special? He looks special, but has he Done special? What's so special about beating Sharmba? Williams handled him. We all knew Sharmba was old... Well, us that follow boxing closely. As for Judah? What has he really done at 147 if you think about it? Lose for the most part. Then after a while ANY young tough fighter mentioned as an opponent for Mayweather is said to be the wrong choice because Floyd has to make a multi-million dollar deal with Oscar. Man I always knew Oscar fight was a business deal. Now he says he's retired? I'm telling you, HE AVOIDS.

Then he calles Mosley a sparring partner, so he won't fight him?
And he can't fight Cotto because he's retired?

I mean, he has his fans make excuses for him.

Is this the a Pound for Pound number One Boxer? Hellll no. When you talk about Mayweather "MONEY" ALWAYS ends up in the conversation. P4P #1 doesn't depend on making high profile business deals such as Oscar, Gatti, Judah. It's not a popularity contest.

Pacquiao destroyed, dominated, and finished two hall of famers who were healthy enough to fight back. THATS what it takes to make number 1.
