truthfully alot of people i know give alot of credit to sturm for the DLH fight but few other european fighters...

there is a term that used to be real big in america "fighting european style" which means straight up, boaring, and stiff, just hitting with scoring blows... and of course they have no heart..

about 15 of the 20 alphabet titles belong to europeans at 160(middle-weight) to heavyweight

with champions such as calzaghe, kessler, mormeck, klitchko, abraham, clinton woods..

And prodigies like Lee, duddy, Povectkin which hardly anyone talks about on here... they are VERY BRIGHT STARS FOR THE FUTURE OF BOXING

And thats just at 160 and above

There has been a revolutionary turn in boxing from North America to Europe in the middle-heavyweight divisions and it rarely gets media attention(except the domination of a poor HW division) nor does it get the fans respect like one would expect

hatton, and calzaghe... i think calzaghe is better in terms of versaltility...but hatton on the otherhand is one dimensional and collazo showed that a slick boxer will give him serious trouble...

Hatton isn't as exciting as most will make his fights out to be...he's like a small john ruiz...hit, clinch, technique...except he's smaller so he throws more punches before clinching. Hatton's critisms are just on par with the mayweather nay-sayers....i.e. Cotto beating the best judah ever except judah hadn't won in two years...but floyd beat a shot judah...truth is floyd beat corrales and castillo when they were better..castillo was in fact shot..but the KT win was impressive because no matter when he fought him to make the great KT retire on the stool with one round to go is impressive...

as for calzaghe..there's no excuse for him fighting manfredo...and not having fought kessler already..or coming to the states to fight bhop, or rjj...calzaghe

By tool logic, that would mean the guy castillo would get the title from is more washed up than he is. You can't win with them, you just gotta show them the facts and walk away.
I'd love to see castillo beat witter badly to earn a title

Then i would like to hear what excuses they have..And these are the same people saying hatton should fight witter
You know they're all just scared that their superstars (ODLH, Cotto, Judah,Mayweather and Mosley) might actually get beat by the man they talked all that mess about, so they'd rather Hatton stuck at 140 so they can always say "But Hatton never faught Floyd, Cotto, etc... so he ain't all that,"
And as far as that goes... i think its to his benefit to stay at 140..because after watching what collazo gave him..(many he say he looked bad on that night) but it was actually collazo's style that was making him look bad...mosley and mayweather would beat him easily in term of beating another great fighter it would be easy...anybody in their right mind would never think that judah would beat hatton..and cotto because of his chin would be a pick'em fight....

hatton is too short and his style won't allow him to effectively fight at 147...

Mayweather gets hated on here and everywhere for throwing money at the camera and trash talking among other things.. every educated boxing fan on here generally agrees mayweather is p4p #1 though

his point is british fighters dont just get hated on but have their skills as a boxer degraded on by a disproportionate part of boxing fans simply because they are stigma attached for be british...

calzaghe would be 3rd ring p4p if he was from mexico or ohio

I dont think Mayweather is Pound for Pound i think he is well choreagrphed boxer but not ever a slighty good fighter !

    Too many show outs

Castillio turned to the ref and complained 28 count them 28 times

Grena virtually had tears in his eyes

Judah did have tears in his eyes

Baldo complained about his hands again after walking to the ring in a gladiator suit

and lets face he was out of ideas whilst Oscar had air in his lungs .

Mayweather is just okay he's built his career on also rans and S*** fighters he's a real pussy and just a S*** human being .

Hatton and Calzaghe have fighting instinct and prowess they have great boxing brains but their respective heart and sheer tenacity overwhelm their more selective thought

I love hatton and calzaghe too and dislike mayweather alot but he is the best p4p

his footwork, d-fence, speed, mayweather is very good

but i hope hatton can beat him.. he has a more brutal, active, style and his personality is real down to earth then he would earn p4p #1 king....

From mexico Jose Calzagaro might be p4p#3 but if he was from ohio he'd just be another bum.

Things is if you look at MAB, he fought 44 raod sweepers before fighting for a title, same kind of thing with Chavez - they don't get much grief

Truth is MAB did not earn respect as a great untill he beat NAZ...was he considered good...Sure but he had to beat Naz to gain the real recognition...At the time Naz was the premier fighter under 130....

    I have to disagree daxx..

Until He lost to Jones he was hot but hadnt quite made it yet..

    Then of course the losses..

Then the first morales fight i beleive was his comeback fight even though he didnt get the decision..
You knew he was still there and in the mix and proved himself in that fight regardless of the decision..

But i suppose to an extent he had to wait for the naz fight to step it right up and be known as one of the best in a winning fashion and impressively instead of in a great close war..

But i do also believe the way in which barrera fights and the fact that he fought out of cali before he hit the major bigtime etc did help him in letting off the critics etc..
