I could see Pacquaio's speed giving him trouble.

As a pacfan, I myself think Pac still has a lot of flaws.

But he's only 28 and still have a lot of time to master all kinds of technics for better skills.

As for Soto, he wouldn't last 6 rounds against Pac. Pac's power and speed will overwhelm him.

Soto must NOT brawl with Pac in order to win.

    Pinoyako, it'll be a battle.

Soto used to be my best kept secret. heheh Me and a few hardcore fans always knew he was the real deal for a couple of years. Since his last fight, people are just starting to notice. It's not hype. He's real.

I predict that Soto will win at least one round. And if he can do that, he certainly has a chance. The thing about Soto is, he is known to get side tracked for a brief moment then get caught with a good punch. Soto, to his credit, has always comes back and fought the next round as if nothing happened. He reminds me of Erik Morales. Not as gifted, but has a heart as big as Mexico. It's not an accident that he fights similiar to Morales, he used to be Morale's sparring partner. Back when Rocky Juarez was still good, Soto practically shut him out, and aggressively too.

Pacquiao will win, by 9th round tko. No matter what, it's the one of the most exciting matchups of the year. But I'm rooting for Soto, hoping he catches Pacquiao off guard... which has been known to happen.... Pacquiao does come in overconfident at times, along with his trainer Roach.

I'm hoping Soto wins a decision in a CLASSIC.

If Juarez was Pac that night, Pac would've followed up with more 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, power combination clean shots in 3 seconds. Blistering speed baby! Pac the vicious finisher.

Of course Soto can beat Pacquiao. Soto is a very good fighter in his prime.

Pacquiao would be the favorite, but Soto would definitely have a good shot at an upset.

Soto was looking good vs Bobby up until he got hit . He was quick on his feet , his combos were tight and compact and he looked like he had a good boxing brain . After he got tagged though , I wasnt impressed . He would get hit vs Pac and I wonder if he'd go into his shell . Fortunatley Bobby was cut and has a history of quitting in fights . Pac though would keep it up and Mannys right hook is more dangerous than his bros .

You'd have to make Manny a favourite but Soto has a chance if an unprepared Pac turns up .

    Good post.

I agre with these 2 guys. Like I've said,Soto is the dark horse of the division. Styles make fights. Soto is tall, strong, battle hardened, throws superb combinations, has power,a good jab amongst his wide arsenal.

He also,as mentioned by Gyro, has lapses in concentration. This would cost him v Manny. I believe Soto can give Pacman a tough fight but I also believe would be favourite and would eventually win. I'd say 8th round tko to Pacman but to merely dismiss Soto as an alsoran would be to Manny's peril. Soto is dangerous.

IF Manny won,he would give alot of kudos from me. I already love watching the Pacman fight and his resume is impressive but I'm one of those calling for him to fight some of the oynuger hungrier guys like Guzman,Soto etc(IF his fight with JMM cannot be made). Credit to him if he wins, especially if he does it impressively.

So? That logic is useless in boxing. Juarez hits harder than Pacquaio. However speed is key element in Pacquaio being able to take people out with punches they don't see.

all im saying is that its not a good idea to use juarez's punch power to gauge sotos chin.

juarez's punch cant take out soto
juarez's punch cant take out mab
    pacs punch took out mab
pacs punch is stronger than juarez
    bobby rocked soto
    pac is stronger than bobby
so pacs punch might take out soto too.

I think it is going to be a good and exciting fight to watch (not the best match-up in terms of monies, but nevertheless). I agree with the others that Soto would definitely give Manny problems and may even pull-out an upset if he lands a "perfect punch" (my apologies for using this term . . .a term that will be oft repeated because of the Hatton - Castillo bout). As such, I see a win for Pacman. My money is on him.

I think Soto goes the distance. But that's about it.
