Against George, he showed he had everything to compete with big men and again with Bowe in 1992. Almost ten years on and after have faced Bowe twice more, Tyson twice, Moorer twice, he was not at his best in New York against Lennox... But you know what, in Los Angeles he took the juice out of the always dangerous one punch english-canadian-jamaican that never followed up his attack showing that his heart was not a part of the package, Holyfield is one of the best 5 of all time and may win a title still at 44, see how good this unbelivable warrior is like

"One punch" the man had an arsenal of punches. He was born in London in a London hospital and lived in London until he was 12 so he is English as it states on his birth certificate and passport. Did Lennox have "heart"? Of course he did and suggesting otherwise shows your lack of knowledge of the sport or what it takes to step in a boxing ring. He was 38 when he fought Vitali Klitschko and won in a power punching war of attrition. Not to mention his fights with Gary Mason (at the time the much more experienced and ranked 3rd in the World), Ray Mercer (Prime version not the old man that just fought Kimbo) and all the hard hitting Heavyweights that Lennox faced and there were many, Tua, Morrison, Ruddock etc.

As for Holyfield it’s hard to say but I would say that he had lost some of his quickness but had gained in experience. Fighters like Holyfield and Lennox are nightmares when trying to pinpoint their actual "primes", both were champions at the time they met and both had a valid claim to being the No.1 Heavyweight in the World. Lennox won both fights clearly in my opinion and proved that he was the best fighter in the division.

You use Michael Dokes and George Foreman to highlight Holyfields brilliance - are you having a laugh?

welsh can we agree that lewis two biggest fights of his "Defining" career were against tyson and holyfield?
    I'd say so..
Were tyson and holyfield both past their primes? i'd say so..
Thats what this post is saying.

They were the biggest wins for the general public but hardcore fans would know differently.

I often feel people say this to discredit Lennox Lewis. If he was past his prime, in my opinion it wouldn't have mattered. If he was in his prime, Lewis would still have beat him. Bowe, Holyfield & Tyson all ducked Lewis for a time, because they knew it was career suicide.

prove it. give me something that even begins to support your ridiculous comments. Holyfield has fought them all!
If lennox had such a hard time beating holyfield when holyfield was past his prime, can you even begin to imagen what would of happend if lewis actually fought evander in his prime.... Cmon gimmie a break.

Totally not true and you know it.

It was close fight but Holyfield did not clearly win it.
