    Default Ibragimov-Chagaev unification!

    http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2...ZHOuqsZUY.html

This October, Seminole Warriors Boxing, Golden Grain Promotions and Sampson Lewkowicz, in association with Universum Box Promotions, will promote the first heavyweight title unification bout in close to eight years when WBO champion Sultan Ibragimov faces off against his WBA counterpart, Ruslan Chagaev, in Moscow, Russia. The historic event presented by Nafta Moskva is not only the first unification bout between two European-born fighters and the first heavyweight unification bout held outside the United States, but it is the first heavyweight unification bout since 1999, when Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield engaged in two bouts with each fighter’s titles up for grabs. On Thursday, the two champions will meet the press for the official announcement of this historic fight.at the President Hotel in Moscow.

Finally,is the mess about to sorted out? Who do you favour?

How sad that the first unification showdown in the heavyweight division for nearly a decade involves these two

For what it's worth I think it will go the distance with Chagaev winning a close but ultimately boring fight.

Wlad is the only current champion worth watching really with Sam Peter, Evander Holyfield and Oliver McCall being the only others who really interest me at all.

I want to be excited but this is the current HW division, the place where excitement doesn't exist.

Alphabet dogshit Unification, two guys that call themselves "White Tysons". Ruslan is heavy handed but lacks the physical shape to punch cleanly and Sultan is far too cautious to come bombing straight away, should become a rub fest. Good match-up though, both undefeated legit titlists looking on to the Klitschko Brewster/ Maskaev Peter outcomes too but I wouldn't be surprised if a WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO final Champion would lose to an outsider next, there's no dominant force in the HWT Division at the moment.

    Fuck me!

these guys havn't even had 1 defense of their belt yet - WTF has wlad been doing all this time fighting bums then? i know the IBF can be right cunts but me thinks wlad hasn't really been to eager to get ti on with the other champs either.

I think this is good news.

I'mnot sure who to pick here though. I've seen Sultan's last three fights now and nothing of Chagaev before Valuev.

Something I can't shake says Chagaev is the man to bet on.

Credit to these two for making it happen & so soon, instead of talking all this sh*t these two are doing something about it!

    My early pick is Chagaev

I don't think they deserve that much credit really. It's a sad fact right now that apart from Wlad the remaining 3 'champions' probably arn't in the top 5 best heavies out there!

If I was Chagaev or Ibragimov, I'd rather fight the other than Sam Peter, Lamon Brewster, Wlad Klitchsko, Tony Thompson, Eddie Chambers, Chris Byrd, Calvin Brock, Oliver McCall, Sergio Lyakhovich, Chris Arreola and even Evander Holyfield.

I wouldn't put either Ibragimov, Maskaev, or Chagaev in the top 6 heavyweights out there. Well maybe Chagaev creeps in there but the fact remains there is nothing seperating any of the top 2-15 guys in the division and a title fight is no harder an opponent than fighting anyone in the top 10 or 15 really, Wlad aside of course.

If this was 2001 and Lennox Lewis was still on top....(It's funny how you don't realize what you have until it's gone)....These two would have been put on the shelf by the British Heavyweight King who dominated the the big men in less then 5 rounds...And I don't mean each I mean between the two... Lewis would have discarded them like yeaterdays leftovers but.....Lennox is no longer here and I need to just accept that we have no dominate HW champion...Though I still have high hopes for Wlad....

I applaud these two for going at it....Are they the image we want as a hw champion as far as physique goes?,,,No but unlike the rest of the bunch they are willing to lay it on the line and see who the better man is....And I respect that....They know the only way to prove who the true chamion is would be to put up and shut up....We may be suprised at what this fight brings.....

HEY COULD STILL HAVE VALUEV AND BRIGGS!!!!!!!.....NOW IMAGINE THE EXCITEMENT OF THAT UNIFICATION BOUT
Hidden Content IN CASE THEY ALL FORGOT WHAT REAL HEAVYWEIGHT POWER WAS!!!

cc for the updated breaking info gamo

i think it is awesome that two, any two heavys champs are fighting..

and i think the winner might be cocky enough, may even get enough money, to fight klitchko for a REAL UNIFIED HW CHAMP...

i know their are people out there probably half of you that dont like his style or whatever but klitchko can be a good champ... and bring excitment back to the heavys.. if he did have an iron chin he would be unbeatable... but its even better when he steps in the ring with a big puncher ANYONE could get knocked out which is what i love...

if you like brutal knock outs Klitchko is your man he will either brutally knock someone out

or get knocked the f**** out
