Default Diobelys Hurtado - under-rated champ

    http://www.sportsnut.com.au/category.php?intid=7

This guy was a mini Tommy Hearns. A bit chinny but with a big kick in either fist. He dropped Tszyu and Pernell twice before falling himself and climbed off the deck to stop Randall Bailey.
A very exciting fighter who never got the recognition he deserved.

Hurtado was a good fighter. But he was nothing close to being a Thomas Hearns. You should be ashamed of yourself for making that comparison.

Hurtado was giving Tsyzu fits early on but those Tszyu bodyshots were just devastating and took out a lot from Hurtado...

His TKO loss to Pernell, shit! I'll never understand why the ref. had to walk all the way around to the other side of them.... By the time he walked around Pernell landed 3 more punches at will....
I bet Jr. would give anything to have that one back....

I don't think he is under rated. He just fought in the division's of superstars. To overshadow fighters like Tszyu and Whitiker or be in the spotlight they are in you have to be in the big fights they were in and win them convincingly.

He was just lost in the shuffle so to speak

Excellent analysis of Hurtado there, he lost to very good fighters and did well in those two fights but you have to beat the top guys to really make a statement in this business. Sometimes there is a big difference between a top 5 fighter and the champ.

What shocked me about Tszyu fight is how rapidly his eye closed in first round.

I didn't mean he was as good as Hearns - just the same dynamics - a tall guy, huge puncher who was a bit chinny himself

Same here lol, was funny in the interview with Larry after. Larry told him about the mass under his eye and Kostya said it was nothing just a scratch, then he touched it with his finger and said "OOOOO! does not look too good right now"
