Eh, not really. Definitely not to the truly elite guys.
Let's see. Judah........

1. Got careless and got KO'd by Tszyu, after totally dominating the first round.

2. Lost to a hard-fighting Baldomir who Judah TOTALLY underestimated and fought one of the worst fights of his career.

3. Lost to PBF (the # 1 p4p in the world) by decision, after taking it to him early in the fight.

4. Lost a war to Cotto, an up-and-coming, undefeated WW star.

In my book, Judah is still a threat to any WW out there today.
And mind you, I'm not a Judah fan.
All losses though.

The Tsyzu fight he did well in the first round and then absolutely nothing the second round, got KO'd at the end.

Any truly elite fighter should have no real problem with Baldo IMO. Maybe I underrate him but he's just not that good to me.

Yes he did do pretty well early against PBF but as usual faded as the fight went on. One thing if you watch enough fights with Judah he almost always fades, at least to some extent. The one fight he didn't was against Cory Spinks, a better fighter than Judah IMO but a perfect matchup, a guy with absolutely no power and a guy that Judah could take the fight too.

I didn't find the Cotto fight to be nearly as close as most people did. I thought it was pretty much a beatdown after the first round or two.

Judah is what he is. A good puncher, although not as good as some make him out to be, and great speed. Great athlete, but his technical skills are way overrated, anybody with that much athletic ability should be MUCH harder to hit. He's not good against pressure fighters at all which is odd considering the tools and style that he has. Also mental problems are a problem, there not just something that's going to go away.

Is he going to get any better? Not likely, he's a guy that if matched right can look great. He always looks good early, then fades, its just what he does. I guess he's a threat in the sense that he can punch but that hasn't been enough against the top guys. And I don't see any reason to think it will be different in the future.

I've always though he was overrated, and I think he continues to be overrated even after its become clear he's a step below the top guys, which is confusing to me. I gained more respect for him after the Cotto fight but just don't think he's an elite fighter.
