Ray Leonard fought after having a detatched retina....I mean it's not great to do but it's better than oooooohhh having a plate in your head (Edwin Valero/MAB) or HIV(Tommy Morrison) or being brain damaged (too many to mention) and fighting.


Was it just me or did Lamon have a dude in his corner in "green face" I mean I saw the guy was black but his face looked like he was having a bad reaction to the gold shirt he was wearing

Wlad has really worked on his problems....look at him vs Sanders then vs Peter....look at him vs Williamson then look at him vs Brewster tonight.

I've already said that he's improved...stop acting like I haven't. You need to recognize that the guy is human...

He's not scared, he fights smarter, his power might be better than before because he's more confident, his punches are faster and his defense is a TON better than what it was

I think that he looked a lot better & I'm proud of him...what do you want to hear me say?

Because no matter what one says about Wlad...it aint ever enough. I think he did good...he's great...what else needs be said?

Totally agree here.

The eye weren't no factor...the layoff...maybe...but that's his choice not to tune up prior to fighting the top dawg.

I thought Wlad gave the stamp of "ass whoopin approval" all over this one.

I know Lamon is no Pernell Whitaker but I've never seen a fighter struggle to see a right hand coming towards them in the last 20 years more than Lamon Brewster. Wlad shouldn't be ashamed about this, and neither should Lamon Brewster or even his people, it's the IBF and the comission who saw it fit to put him in the ring.

Lamon will be fine IMO, he can come back and be something he just needs more time to learn Buddy McGirt's style...if he can have good defense and land his left hook he'll be a threat to anyone.



Wladimir's next opponents: Nicolay Valuev (who has a fight date in September open), Hasim Rahman, John Ruiz.....really only the older guys coming off losses are available to him....he could take a Eddie Chambers but it's WAAAAY too soon for Eddie to take that fight




Big Dan if you're that upset about it, go join PETA or something, but don't watch boxing if you're going to be a girl about it...ever think about what Brewster would do if he couldn't fight He has kids he has a wife, he has to put bread on the table....I understand IF he was hurt but he took a layoff for his injury and now he's back....getting punched is part of the sport, it's not like his eye was rolling around in the ring or anything.

That's immature to say, I love boxing, I love knockouts and I love fighting in general, it's the basis of human DNA, it's the essence of all sports, but there's such a thing as a level playing field. It's why there's weightclasses, marquis of queensbury rules, sanctioning bodies, referees and judges. When a guy gets in the ring with one of his eyes clearly not working properly, it's like tying a hand behind their back. This isn't world war one or the fucking Gaza Strip. It's boxing and it should be safe, but it clearly isn't.
