Mega Casinos, opinions

I've been seeing a lot of news about huge casinos being built or planned for the UK and Australia, does anyone in nearby areas know what kind of feelings the public is showing towards these? Where I live in Florida there is a push for casino gambling to be allowed and as I've heard a lot of money is being dumped into it already even though laws aren't allowing it as of yet. What kinds of neighborhoods are these casinos going to be put in?

well over here(uk) they were planning to put them in run down areas to create jobs,money etc.........
but yesterday Gordo Brown (our new primeminister)has said in a speech that it on hold(the old primeminister gave the go ahead)

I hope they are not created in the UK,I asaww a documentary on them and although they will allow the rich a leisurely pastime,it will also lead to more people getting addicted hence more poverty,depression,more cimes in order to feed their lust for the machines and just a general bad effect on society. The only reason the governement is even thinking about introducing them was because of the amount of $$$ they generate.
