Just to shut some people up 2 fights outside of England and Wales do not count as venturing out.

and to further get rid of stupid replies NO HE DOES NOT HAVE TO COME TO AMERICA.....I could care less if it was Australia
Show me an arena where the fight can make as much money through ticket sales as they can in the Millenium Stadium....it's gonna be one of the biggest boxing crowds ever. They tried to get the fight made in Denmark but Mogens Palle couldn't offer his own fighter enough money....so they had to come to Britain. It is, quite simply, a question of maths, and making the biggest amount of money. Or are they in this game to earn respect from their peers?
You are right it is all about money with Joe. Thats why he doesnt get respect from his peers. As if Joe needs more money at this stage in his career. If he is a multi millionaire what more does he need?
Twenty years from now he'll be known as a fighter who dodged most of the top fighters of his era, only fought at home and was all about the money. Compare that with someone like Winky Wright who would never make as much as Joe but in twenty years time will be remembered and respected fo fighting the top guys anywhere.
I tell u now he would fill a huge stadium if he came to australia and fought Mundine. Mundine v Green had like 30000 and a fight against Calzaghe would draw a bigger crowd. Calzaghe v RJJ five years ago would have filled a big stadium and made Joe loads of money.

So dont talk rubbish.
I dont care about where Calzaghe fights. I care about who he fights.

Now he is taking the best fight possible - and if you actually would prefer him to take on Mundine instead of Kessler, let me know, as I will might as well stop the discussion right there - and people are blaming him for staging it where the most money is?

'Sure, Millenium Stadium is better for both fighter's fans, worth more for both fighters, will have greater atmosphere etc, but I still think they should prove themselves by fighting it on a another continent.' Seriously?
didn't think i would ever find my self CC'ing someone on here called mikkel_k.. but S*** i just done it...
I'm with Preme and Mikkel on this one, and I'm sorry nonito, or eagle, or whatever else your alias might be, but you seem to have completely missed the point i was making. It was inevitable that they would have to fight each other, so should they each take the biggest payday they can by fighting in Cardiff, or should they both come to Australia and fight before about 50 people, just to prove a point? And the atmosphere at the stadium will be unrivalled, so on this one, I'm afraid, you're the one who's talking rubbish.

And CC Mikkel....i can't wait until fight night and to have a bit of banter with the Danish fans beforehand in the pubs around town.
