No matter what the outcome He still does not have the balls to fight anywhere but home or at least close to it.

For someone who considers himself a journalist there seems to be a lot of hating going on here, and a lack of knowledge. Two fights outside the UK, that's true, but he also fought Woodhall, Starie, Eubank, Reid (granted Eubank was hated at the time) in their home country of ENGLAND. Exactly how many times did the likes of Roy Jones, Floyd Mayweather, B-hop fight outside of the US when they was number one?

It was a money issue that it would be held in Wales rather than Denmark, even if it wasn't, Joe's number 1 at the moment and it's up to the challenger to make the flight.

You can criticise some of his opponents to date, but don't you dare call him whiney a** or a coward, after the Jeff Lacy fight this will be his 2nd fight in 18 months he's fought against THE fighter considered most dangerous to him at the time, the two fighters which the so called hard core fans on websites such as this clamoured for him to fight.

Your hero Joe Calzaghe sat at a press confrence and called Peter Manfredo a Worthy opponent.....How with a straight face I do not know but he said it.....The after being blasted by the press for fighting him.....Since you know so much about the press you would have read what was being written....Joe suddenly does a 180 and acts like Manfredo was forced upon him....The fight was such a farce Larry Merchant refused to give Warren any interview time because of the constant BS out of his mouth....

As for the venue and the money....You make this fight and no matter where it is it will sell.....So you know S*** about it...This is not a freaking Arturo Gatti fight against some no body that needs Atlantic city to sell out...This is a fight fans everywhere want....

AS for Kessler being the Challenger last time I checked he was the owner of half the governing titles....He is undefeated....


@nd fight in 18 months You have the stones to sit and act like the Manfreado fight was something to consider legit!!!! Truth is Calzaghe should be embaressed about even allowing Warren to make that fight....


As for what I write on the form.....Has nothing to do with what I write for the general public to read...That shows how little in the head you have....The form is here to trash talk it is not for professional talk....How I act about my opinions of fighters has nothing to do with what I write on the Form...LEARN THE DIFFERENCE!!!!!

What I took exception to was your tone in personally attacking Calzaghe, insinuating he's been actively avoiding the toughest fights, even though he's just signed up to fight what's considered to be the toughest opponent out there for him at the moment, just as Lacy was considered the toughest fight for him way back when.

The other part of your post I thought you got wrong was criticising him for hometown fights. As I already mentioned, he has fought often in England against English opponents where he was not the most backed fighter. I'm not going to stand here and say Joe has been travelling round the world looking for fights, but, apart from Winky (and Hatton to an extent), who the hell has? So I don't see why Joe should be singled out for criticism for this aspect of his career.

As Miles said, the only two names missing on his resume is Jones and Hopkins, offers were made to these fighters but they refused (not criticising them for that. they were the established names at the time and it was up to Joe to travel) however my point is he was never given a counter offer by these guys to go over there, so he can't be accused of being a ducker.

By the way, I'm not a fan of Frank Warren, but to be honest I can't think of a single promoter that I would be a fan of, it's not a profession which attracts pleasant people. I was horrified myself when I heard Manfredo was going to be his opponent last time out.

If he was signed up to fight another bum this sort of criticism would be justified, but for fucks sakes he's signed up fight the guy everyone wants him to fight, what more can he do?

I will however apologise for bringing up your journalism into the debate, as a fan you certainly have a right to express your personal opinion on this board, and I shouldn't have expected complete impartialism from you.
